Olympic Weightlifting Course in Melbourne

Revolution Performance Training is running an eight-week Olympic Weightlifting Fundamentals Course, beginning Monday October 10th here at the studio. Sessions will be run on a Monday and Wednesday night commencing at 7:30pm.

This will be technique orientated course; focussing on mobility before lifting, this weightlifting course will help you to create speed, power and fluidity which correlate directly into sporting performance and thankfully - aesthetics too.

The powerful movements found in weightlifting greatly improve strength and performance, making you stronger, faster and more powerful and is included in nearly every elite sporting strength and conditioning program. To perfect these movements you must obtain flexibility and stability, and a strong core to be able to move fast and be in control at the same time.

Weightlifting of this capacity is a highly technical skill and requires an understanding of your body and how it moves to effectively reap the benefits of this style of training. Hence, our weightlifting coaches will be picky on technique, dishing out mobility and activation orientated drills to have you improving rapidly and performing all movements both safely and effectively.

Weightlifting has been a competitive sport of the Olympic Games since 1896 and demonstrates expert neuromuscular performance, strength, flexibility, coordination and power.

You will be taken through the two classical lifts, the clean and jerk and the snatch by David Kinsella, a Level 2 Strength and Power Weightlifting coach. The eight-week program will finish with a competition held here at Revolution Personal Training in South Melbourne. The ultimate goal is to see how much you can ‘total’ between the two lifts.

Weightlifting of this capacity is a highly technical skill and requires an understanding of your body and how it moves to effectively reap the benefits of this style of training. Hence, your weightlifting coach will be very picky on technique and skill acquisition as well as dishing out mobility and activation orientated drills individually to have you improving rapidly and performing all movements both safely and effectively.
