Join us for our eight-week Olympic Weightlifting Fundamentals Course.
This will be technique orientated course; focussing on mobility before lifting, this weightlifting course will help you to create speed, power and fluidity which correlate directly into sporting performance. We aim to build your confidence in the art of the clean and jerk and the snatch as well as the vast range of accessory lift that aid in supporting these two primary lifts.
The powerful movements found in weightlifting greatly improve strength and performance, making you stronger, faster and more powerful. These lift and variations of these two primary lifts are included in nearly every elite sporting strength and conditioning program. To perfect these movements you must obtain flexibility, stability and a strong core to be able to move fast and be in control at the same time.
Weightlifting of this capacity is a highly technical skill and requires an understanding of your body and how it moves to effectively reap the benefits of this style of training. Hence, our weightlifting coach David will be picky on technique, dishing out mobility and activation orientated drills to have you improving rapidly and performing all movements both safely and effectively.
You will be taken through the two classical lifts, the clean and jerk and the snatch by David Kinsella, a Level 2 Strength and Power Weightlifting coach. The eight-week program will finish with a training session at TG Strength in Cheltenham under the guidance of elite level coach Lester Ho who works closely with many of the team from Revolution Performance training.
In this final session, if you desire, you will have the opportunity to build up to and post your heaviest lift in a supportive, well coached, safe environment.
