Episode transcript
Hello everybody, I just wanted to say something really really quick before we dive into this week’s episode and the first thing I want to say is I know that it might seem like this episode is really really long because it is a record. Congratulations to us. But I just wanted to say that it is so valuable, everything that is in this podcast and if you need to listen to it over a bunch of different journeys this week, I really cannot recommend it highly enough. The amazing, amazing person who I’ve gone on podcast this week is Lisa McDonald, otherwise known as Lisa Maximus on Instagram. And she actually had her very first baby last week. So six days ago now, so little Jackson is six days old. And he is the most gorgeous little thing. and the conversation we had one month ago is absolutely mind blowing. So Lisa is the head of the women’s program at Jim Jones in Utah and for the whole world then and what she talks about in terms of female health and pregnancy and training while pregnant and hormones and all different areas of everything to do with female health is just so relevant and applicable to all of us, both men and women. And it’s really, really interesting and it’s really honest and it’s obviously really detailed. Hence why it goes so long, but I could not recommend that you listen to it highly enough. And while I was going through and editing it, it was really hard to cut anything out because there is just so much content in there that’s important for us all to hear. So I really hope you like the episode. I know that you’re going to love Lisa after this because she is not only hilarious, but she is extremely knowledgeable and clearly passionate. And it’s been such an honor and a pleasure to have her on this podcast. And I cannot congratulate her and rob enough for their little man, Jackson, who’s, yeah, as I said, six days old. So happy birthday, Jackson. Thank you everyone for listening. Thanks for your support. Enjoy different episode for you. And we cover all things, health and fitness from training to nutrition to mindset to recovery to training after having a baby to training just to feel great. This is your hub for all things, health and fitness. And we really hope that you like the show. a good number for us today. But I am beyond excited today to be talking to who I’m talking to because not only is this person an unbelievably incredible human being from afar, she’s even more so when you actually get to meet her. And for a long time before we actually met, she was a really big inspiration to me and mentor. And now I feel really, really confident in the fact that we’re actually friends as well. And that doesn’t take away from the fact that she’s still a really big inspiration to me and mentor and now I feel really really confident in the fact that we’re actually friends as well and that doesn’t take away from the fact that she’s still a really big inspiration to me and mentor so I’m talking about the one and only Lisa McDonald. Hi Lisa. Hi. I’m good. How are you? That’s good. So previously Lisa Pressard and now Lisa Maximus sometimes. Depends on who you talk to. How I was informed that our legal names are no longer being used as Robert, you know, Bobby Maximus, no longer Robert McDonald’s Maximus, no longer Lisa. Okay, I’ll try and remember that. You can just go on with Jane if you like. So this is all I’m talking to today and I’m really excited because I know that we’re going to have heaps to say. I actually think we’re probably going to have to like keep it shorter than what we want to because otherwise we’ll just sit here all day and chat. So what I really want to talk to Lisa about is a whole bunch of things because she’s had a really, really interesting path. And as you know, if you listen to this podcast, the main thing I try to demonstrate is that we can all follow really different parts. And it’s all about heart and attitude and how willing we are to give everything to our life. And Lisa has done this in a bunch of different directions. And I think that that’s really interesting. And she’s very young, like you’re’re 28 now and I’m one of the most definite people I’ve met so she’s very definite in you know what is important to her and what direction she’s going and who is important to her and why and I think that this is we can learn so much from people like this for our own lives and for our own direction and so I want to I do like to start off each podcast with a quote. So I actually want to read something that Lisa’s written. And at the moment, Lisa is actually eight months pregnant. So we have one more month to the little band is here. So we’re going to talk about that a lot. But the other day, Lisa was training. And I tell you what, watching Lisa train at eight months pregnant really, really brings home that there are no excuses. She’ll be lifting more weight than me and I’ll be like, “Ugh.” Then I’ll look over here and I’ll be like, “Ugh.” Okay, get on with it. Anyway, so Lisa posted this on her Instagram the other day and she wrote, “You can’t train someone to have heart. Luckily right now I have two.” And I just thought that was so awesome and I completely agree with that. You cannot train someone to have heart and right now she does have two so. And then the other one, something else I wanted to read out that she had written was a post from a birthday workout. Lisa actually put me through on Friday and it had, thank you. Yeah, I’m still really grateful for that workout. She wrote, “When obstacles arise, you change your direction to reach your goal. You don’t change your decision to get there.” And I couldn’t think of a better way to welcome Lisa to this podcast, but through that, because that is, I feel, exactly how you’ve lived your life. So the way I want to kick off today is I would love you to give us a little bit of an intro on you and what you feel has led you to now in your life. So you can include anything here. – So basically what I’ve gone through, I wrote to where we are now, which is Jim Jones. And to me, one of the best gyms in the world. I mean, we have some of the best trainers, some of the best philosophy, best programming. I mean, we’re, you know, talked here. And where I came from, I would have never envisioned that for myself. I loved training and I loved working out. And it came from, really it replaced my riding. So I grew up riding horses competitively and I traveled year-round doing that. And at a high level, so I had four horses at the time and when you have more than one horse, it’s a lot of work. So it wasn’t just showing up riding and going home. It was going to the barn, taking your horse up, grooming him, tacking him up, getting on a more them up, training, cooling them down, brushing them off, putting everything away and cleaning your tacking, going home. I did that four times over every night. So my life was really in a barn. I mean, it took me four to six hours just to get through the training day at the barn. So that the content of hard work for me, or putting that extra time in effort in, your horse is new when you put that extra time in effort in and/or you can’t really have a horse unless you’re willing to put that time back in. So you really had to earn it. You can’t just pick up riding for some gables. I mean, you have to really earn it. And so that kind of hard work concept for me has always been there. I could get to the barn at six o’clock in the morning and leave it at night. I would. I just loved it. So that’s the type of work that I enjoy doing. And when I quit writing, I rose from the age of 12 to about 22, 23. And I got out of writing. It’s a very expensive sport. And it takes a lot of time. And so I went and went to college and was going down the school route, trying to figure out what I wanted to do. And I had a bunch of different jobs. I worked for my father at one time who had a cardio ship and I worked auto shows. So I traveled from state to state and stand on a big rotating platform welcoming everyone to the music and display and rising pages of scripts on cars and all that. And it was fun. And I learned a lot and I traveled and that was great. And I kind of really figured out who I was. When you get to be alone on the road and you’re dealing with this right now, and you’ve been coming out here and interning and coming to your seminars and you learn what it’s like to be alone. And having breakfast, lunch and dinner sometimes by yourself, doing a lot of self work, self reflection. I’m figuring out what you like and what you don’t like. And that whole life wasn’t wasn’t really for me being out going out of the time, not being in a home body. I like to be home. And I like routine. So that kind of taught me that. And so I went I went back to school. I went on my own. I was completely independent. And I started nutrition and exercise science. That was like my, I loved it. I was like, oh man, if I love the, you know, go into the gym and doing this, then why don’t I do it for a living? Right? This grand old fuck. – Totally. – You guys are so easy. – I feel like I’ve had the same thought. – Yeah. – And then you get to train all the time. – I get to train. – Of course. – is. Yeah. Taking you all named, we’re going to all things, we just love it. So that’s my best thought of the year and that’s what I was going to do. And so I did. So I started studying nutrition and exercise science. I loved nutrition. I had a bunch of issues personally with my stomach. Gosh, I got diagnosed with everything you can think of. And so instead of taking a bunch of medication, my doctor gave me, I started to really study it and almost take an Eastern approach to things. Like instead of antioxidants, take apples, had your vinegar. Figure in things out that way and it worked way better. And doing eating right worked better than taking any sort of medication. So I really started to get really heavy into that and the training thing. And so I trained under someone and back when I lived in Michigan and it was called Art of Strength and that’s one of the divisions of kettlebells. So I did my certification for that and worked under a guy in West Bloomfield and we ended up opening a second location and me and my co-workers act took over a brand new gym. So I really got to taste what it was like to have a… It was a definitely boutique gym. It was not a 24-hour fitness. It was a studio gym. It was a bit of a niche market. It was expensive, personal training, small classes, that kind of a thing. And, you know, I really learned how to work my house off. We had a gym at five o’clock in the morning, I had to get there at 4.30 a.m. and then I would go to, I would work, you know, from 4.30 at classes at 5.6.7.8.9. I’d finally get off, I’d do an hour of training on my own and then I would go to school at noon, being school from to three get back in my car direct back to the gym have a client from four five six seven to eight and then I close the door and then I have to do homework and All that so my life was definitely all about nutrition and fitness and Working my ass off and I know that my question was what led you to now and I’m going to then Ask you what happened between there and now. But what I want to just turn in on right now is what was your health like then? Like what was your skin like? What was your body like? What was your performance like? How did you feel working that kind of, you know, those kind of hours? What happened was when I was the nutrition thing, and this is back in school, it’s interesting when I talk about the Eastern Western medicine, but you wanna use pills or you can start fixing your diet. – Totally. – No one really talked about it from some men and women, right? So that’s like one of the big things working out here at Dune Jones and my goal here at Dune Jones is a lot of the women’s specific stuff. – Yeah. – And which we’re so excited about. – Oh my God, I’m so excited about it. And when you think of like there’s so many female consumers of fitness and health, everyone. 50% of them. Totally. So it’s not just female trainers that you’re educating. You’re educating the male trainers on female situations, which are different. Like it’s different and I cannot be like, I just think it’s a really important direction for you to take. It’s huge. Yeah, and no one I didn’t know this at the time so I decided to go paleo, right? So I’ll fix your stomach and you know, that’s what I was on. It was in to the nutrition. Yeah nutrition nutrition nutritious. Yeah, let’s go paleo. Yeah, that was a grand idea. Yeah The only problem was is I had gallbladder issues to discuss this with’ve discussed this with you a little bit. I hard-tum consuming all the fat that was in a paleo diet. So mind you, I did the paleo approach, but from almost like a low fat perspective. But it was all about meat and clean meat and vegetables. Yeah, great. And I ate fruit because one of the sugars, the juicer sugar drag and whatever they call it, I got to put some sugar. So I was like, “Okay, I’m not even eating fruit like that.” I Yeah, yeah, yeah, I got into it and when I get into something I get into a hundred percent. Yeah. Yeah, so there I am eating like literally salads with You know salmon or go chicken or some sort of you know, I do not think that that just yeah again really mean Yeah, and I ended up getting down my my weight went from you know, I started working out, I would sit, I don’t know about 130 pounds. – Yeah. – Maybe, from one point eight. – Which is about like 50, the 20, 15, 55 kilos. – Yeah, and it’s five foot four. – Yeah. – So I’m not super tall. – Yeah. – And that’s a pretty healthy weight. – Yeah. – And as I got paleo and more and more paleo, I know we were also training really hard. – Yeah. – So I also had enough muscle on me. I wasn’t justafe. I mean, I yeah, I had a little muscle on me and I got my weight down to 116 pounds. And I did one of those. I would do those fat body fat passing. So they have an urgent and one of the kind of high tech ones where you stand, you stand on it and you hold handles and electrodes your whole body, whatever. Yeah. And I would measure between 13% body fat 14% body fat. Yeah And that was low. So I didn’t have a cycle at the time, which I didn’t know whether it was due to birth control. I had been on what’s called a marina. I’m not sure if you guys knew that. The little IUD that works for five years. And you may lose your period, you may not, they don’t know. And so I ended up losing my, didn’t think much of it. He said you’ll have it back in a cycle or two. I had it taken out and it had been three years. I I Like I’m like, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you just make my change of my personality. So it’s like yeah Totally yeah, so I’m like I don’t really feel like going on a hormone. So I just kind of hung out there Yeah, and try to be what I thought was really healthy. Yeah, and at that point I was eating a pound of steamed and a pound of raw vegetables today. Oh my god, that’s a lot of vegetables. Yeah, totally. At the time I actually literally had a handful of vegetables. Yeah, because I had something to buy from an A. Oh my god. It was coming through my skin. Wow. Because I’ve heard about that can happen. Yeah. Yeah. So people used to think I’ll use self-tanner. Yeah. And I was like, actually, no, that’s the one I was like, “This is what my brother says to me because I do use self-tanner It’s like I’m like my brother’s always like you look like you have too much vitamin A and I’m like well, that’s better than looking healthy. Yeah, totally. Yeah, yeah, yeah… I’m like 150% yeah I didn’t put anything in my mouth. Yeah, if it didn’t come from other or you kill you that was like how I totally totally Yeah, yeah, and I was like this devout like yeah, yeah, yeah, I have orange bombs. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, 14% body the next day or on 11 o’clock and I couldn’t I couldn’t eat anything past like you know midnight the night before week that I go to bed at 10 Yeah, I did anything past 10. Yeah, but the time I got there they had to put two bags of fluid in me and they like lost my blood pressure completely when I was under so I couldn’t wait me out to make me out to make me out. Oh, that’s not a healthy human And by any stretch of the imagination and all these things are happening to me and no one’s even asking me questions about it. Like no doctor decided to be like what’s your diet like or what’s your body fat or how much are you sleeping or… When was the last time you had your period? No one even thought about it. No one asked me a question about it and I’m like so I didn’t really think about it either. I mean I have really low blood pressure to the point where I think at one time I was like 56 over 60. I mean it was a little bit of a technical, it’s healthy. Isn’t this interesting because the work I do with people, what we focus on is we focus on true knowledge versus learned knowledge. So learned knowledge is everything we hear. So we hear paleo is healthy. We hear a certain amount of body fat healthy. We hear all these different things are healthy, training this many times. Everything that we hear in life and read and one of our friends lost all this weight on this kind of diet. So maybe I’ll do that. Or we have true knowledge, which is how we feel and how our skin looks. And I think I say to you every time I see you because you glow, like your skin glows and I’ve said it to you probably a hundred times but you really do you really do look healthy and and it’s really interesting because I’m then not going to say to you Lisa tell me everything that you eat today and I’m not going to copy it because I’m a different person to you exactly and so it’s like that’s a point that I’ve had to come to in my life it’s like what what actually makes me feel good each day and And it’s really interesting that you’ve had this experience where it’s like, that was irrelevant. No one was asking you how you feel. And no one was saying to like, you know, maybe this isn’t the right thing for you. Yeah. 100% wasn’t the right thing for me. And the more I’m learning, I’m like, oh man, you know, men do really well on this diet. First of all, men can have a habit. I shouldn’t say we’re men because I’m going to go back to, I’m making, oh man, you know men do really well on this diet. First of all men can have a habit I shouldn’t say we’re a man because I’m gonna go back to I’m making general statements, I’m being specific and everyone’s different. Generally men can eat more calories than one single woman. Like I get full, I get full. And I have a much easier time eating ever so often and is a sign that goes away. – It was like, I can’t fast. I cannot fast. Yeah. – And it’s a lot of, I’m going joke is when women get hungry to get hungry. – Yeah, I’m sorry. – Or just go silent. I’m just like, I’m no longer there. – You can’t say, I’m a friend, don’t have that. – And in fact, you hear a relationship from guys who are like, you know, girls like, I need to eat right now. – Yeah. – Oh wow. – Yeah, put that up in. – They don’t who like you know girls like honey right now Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah that’s not yeah that’s not yeah where we if I feel like for me it happens every three hours. Yeah, yeah, I have this yeah, yeah, if I don’t even three hours I get cranky. Yeah, yeah cranky. Yeah, yeah and kind of foggy. Yeah, yeah, I can’t quite speak correctly. I can articulate. I just am kind of off my game. Yeah. And Rob doesn’t have that. No, he would like during the weekend of the seminar, like to stay more on. He ate less during the day. Yeah. Yeah. We just had to go and eat before having this conversation. We just did a training session. This is something else I want everybody to know is if you haven’t already Googled Lisa or looked her up on Instagram right now, you should. Lisa Maximus. You got to get a load of her. I’m pretty sure that everyone listening to this actually knows exactly who she is. But when she’s talking about training hard, she’s talking about training hard. She’s not talking about going to the gym and running on the treadmill, even though we are not against treadmills. But like she’s talking about going to the gym and doing 100 back squats at like pretty much half your body weight, more than half your body weight. Was that more than? Yeah, that was like three quarters of your body weight you did today. Yeah, 100 back squats, pregnant, eight months pregnant. Like it’s like, that was a recovery workout, but we weren’t supposed to. We weren’t supposed to. We’re about that. Whether we have to. And the other day it’s like we’re doing street press and I do want to talk about your training since you’ve been pregnant as well. But like Lisa is probably the hardest working female I’ve ever met like in the gym and outside of the gym. And so yeah, when we’re talking about training hard and nutrition stuff, like we’re talking about where we all hope that we will be one day and she’s there at eight months, very good. So I think that’s awesome. But what I want to go back to now is I want to talk about you then between when you were working at that gym, you know, 4.30 a.m. till 10 a.m. and then studying and stuff. Where did did the change happen like how did you then come to Jim Jones? So I didn’t realize I mean I think we all realize that I’m going out of the run healthy right now and what I was doing was unhealthy yeah, but you almost get so cortisol written yes, so yeah, you get so cortisol written and so I wouldn’t say high book is it’s – You’re kind of addicted to the adrenaline. – I’m addicted to the adrenaline, so you’re going so hard. And it was actually doing acupuncturist, and she said the most interesting thing anyone’s ever said to me. And she was like, are you tired? And I was like, no, I’m going to go to my home. – Yeah, look at me. – I’m going to go and look at my example. Look at me go, I’m going to have some sport. 30, I’ve done warm today at 10 a.m. Then you’ve done and left this entire week. – Yeah, yeah, my skin glows. Yeah, yeah, and I take every box in terms of health you like it’s like yeah, yeah, and I take take a million Yeah, and she said do you ever take and do you ever sit down? Yeah? Yeah, I was like yeah, I’m gonna do yeah Yeah, and I got a train and I got a work I gotta go to work and she’s like well, how come you don’t ever sit down and take a nap yeah, and I I was like I don’t need to I’m fine. I’ve got a few Yeah, you gotta take a rest you’re tired and I’m like I don’t know she goes think about it. Why don’t you sit down? Yeah, I said She was are you afraid you won’t get back up? Yeah, and I thought about it first I know and I got like yeah Yeah, dude, like that’s a hundred percent accurate and I’m afraid that if I sit down. Yeah, I actually won’t get back up and honestly, I don’t think that I would yeah like if I decided all you could yeah, because I remember that there were even evenings where after work I Had to go out with my friends and we didn’t play just Friday night or anything. I was supposed to be out with my friends. And you’re what like 22? Yeah. And I want to go out with my girlfriends. Yeah. Have a social life. Totally. But I thought we. Yeah. And I remember standing in my shower like literally washing my hair and I was like. Yeah. Spilling on my face because I was so tired. So exhausted. So bad. Yeah. That from the inside. Yeah. I didn’t even want to see my friends. Yeah Like you can’t keep this up, right? Like at what point are you gonna just like crumble? Yeah, yeah, yeah, but then we have these pressure in society to go, go, go… productivity like oh look at you like you’re a superwoman like you can do it all Exactly and then you’re like if I can’t keep up in my family like is there something wrong wrong with me? Yeah, because I’m supposed to be this person I can do it all. Totally. Totally. Totally. Yeah, yeah So I would stand and train my clients literally my hands wrapped around on my head Oh my god totally totally yeah, yeah, they couldn’t be my pockets. They couldn’t be folded in front of me. They could be Legently folded across my lap. Oh my god. So those are I had rules like that that had to follow. Oh I that used the, you know, the threat instead of the encourage. – Oh yeah, totally. Yeah, negative. – You know, you need to get more, if you wanted to drive me to get more clients instead of saying to me, if you get more clients, I’ll increase your pay 10%, or if you get three clients this month, like, do this as a reward. – Totally. – If you don’t get three clients this month, I’m docking your payback. – Oh my God. – So it’s just a fear, it was just that type of behavior. – Totally. – And they love to tell you that you can do it. – control you through fear. Yeah. Which is the craziest we’ve talked about this and I’m going to actually let you talk about it. But it’s the craziest way to like for human beings, all you need to do is positive reinforcement. Like if someone said to you, Lisa, you are an amazing trainer. Like, you know, every single day we come in here and we think that you are just so amazing at your job You would be like watch me be amazing like totally Like like if you told me or you know I’m gonna dock your pay if you don’t get three clients I’d become the most psycho trainer ever I’d be like don’t you want to try anything? Why don’t you want to try anything? I’d be like everyone be like no You feel like you’re you don’t have value you’ve got no worth but like me you’re scared totally To be honest with you at that point, you know, I was on my honest completely self-efficient. Yeah, yeah, yeah Trying to be healthy Yeah, totally. It’s like what’s wrong with me? Yeah totally. I really I’m working my butt off and I’m stressed out and all of a sudden I had a client of mine who was also a friend of mine and he’s a car director and He’s a car director and he’s been working with him for a year work with him for a year half a half. That’s one of my, actually became one of my best friends. He’s like, “Oh, I’m adjusting everyone on this movie.” So he was on a movie set. And he was like, “I’m meeting this high-level trainer and this Jim Jones and you should meet up.” And I thought to myself, “That’s the last thing I want to know.” – Yeah, yeah, yeah. – He made some Hollywood trainer. – Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. – I know, I’m not a good guy. – This guy think he is this whoever and I you know I’m really trying to get school done I can’t even like make time to have lunch with you yeah you think I want to meet some random and so I ended up getting introduced this whole community of people yeah and they were nice yeah like they were nice and they were genuine better than my jet right yeah some of these this that I look up to. And B, they’re not me and they’re not me and they’re both. I thought I was kind of a june jon session. Did that set my shit straight? Yeah. I There’s not one way is skin a cat. I mean totally Couple of different ways to say that. Yeah, there’s more than one path to get to that. You know, yeah, okay, like I believe in everything I don’t know I believe that I don’t believe plotty’s is bad. Yeah, I don’t believe that weightlifting is that I mean everything works for different bodies totally it all has its own place. It all has its own play.. Yeah, it’s okay to have a favorite and it’s okay to do both. Yeah, yeah, yeah… And until figure out what we’re trying to do it. Do anything that works for you. Mm-hmm. So I really wanted to learn more. Mm-hmm. So I was like, okay, this Jim Jones thing is kind of cool. Yeah. And, um, and then I got introduced to Rob. Mm-hmm. And I heard a lot about him. I was Rob Rob, and Bob Max, and this Bob Max, I should’ve even thought about him. Yeah, yeah. And Yeah. Which must have just been like, you must have been like, what? I’ve just been in a job where people… Especially where I felt like everyone were working, right? Completely. And Rob asked me to go to a seminar. Yeah. We were talking fair, but he came and visited me and at that moment we were kind of dating. And just because I thought he was super nice. I love the new gloss go-bar. It’s like I love that that just I was like wait wait wait because I was expecting that and then I walked in and there he was. I was like I was like searching for that. No no just how about them all dating. Yeah like you know and I really love the training and we knew really people and you know that guy you know Rob. And you know honestly Rob to me at that point was a bit of a unicorn. Yeah, yeah, it’s not only did I learn about him via social media was really how I learned about him. And I saw his pictures and I saw his quotes and I saw him as a father and I saw him as a man and a friend and a guy and a guy and he’s funny and he’s charismatic and yeah. I was like, oh my god, this guy is amazing. And “Hey, the game answers to the website, it was what do you think of the website?” And I was like, “You know, my gosh, thank you so much for letting me check it out. It’s really awesome and you guys are great and how cool is your project, like what you love to think about your gym and should have chit-chat. What would we do?” I work for this gym, post-drants, Michigan, and I took time to explain what I did. – I’m a really awesome trainer, I never crossed my arms. – I don’t put my hands in pocket and I don’t want my hands in pocket. I don’t want my body. I promise. And he was just really nice. And so not only was he nice, but he was smart. He’s so smart. He’s so smart. He’s a little bit about everything. And he knows everything that’s going on around him. He’s just like, his brain is unbelievable. – He’s amazing human. It’s amazing to see how intelligent he is in every, really every capacity. I mean his ability to read a room, his ability to talk to people, his ability to mentor, his ability to inspire people, his ability to relate, his ability to engage, to make you feel special. He remembers everything. Yeah, yeah It’s just he’s a different breed of human. He had these brains in his muscles. Totally. He’s not as entitled. That’s also stereotype. But he can’t help it. So then we started talking and it was a phone conversation. We ended up on the phone for three and a half hours of first time we ever talk. And I was like, oh my God, this guy. I don’t know what he did. What he did. What it is. Yeah. Yeah. And we talked for a month and he wanted to come visit and I was kind of like, no, yeah, I’m busy. Yeah. Because then what? So this is like kind of how I looked at my life. Working in this gym, I’m working too many hours and I’m in school. So what? This gym in Utah? Like, what am I really going of it? – Totally. – I don’t even have time to go. – Where’s it going? – Yeah. – And this guy wants to come visit me, talk about what, so not even long distance. – Totally. – And you’re like, at this point in your life as well, you’re like kind of like teetering on an ice edge, like your cortisol is crazy, your adrenaline is crazy, like you’re underweight, your hormones are like, you’re working, you’re in a job where you’re working so so hard but kind of not really getting anywhere and not being appreciated it like it’s so interesting when you’re in that situation you can’t see a way out like you can’t see anything being better because you’re trying your hardest and I think yeah totally so you’re like how can I take a risk what if it’s worse than this what if it’s worse than this and because your work ethic is unbelievable you’re like I can’t can I take a risk? What if it’s worse than this? What if it’s worse than this?” And because your work ethic is unbelievable, you’re like, “I can’t work any harder. Like, I can’t make it better than this.” So, yeah. That’s what happened. And I just kept working, working, working. And I didn’t see a way. I didn’t look at Jim Jones as my way out. I did not. I looked at Jim Jones as like, “Let’s make my career better than it is now.” Like, if they don’t appreciate if I didn’t more than they’ll appreciate me totally totally totally I have to work harder yeah I have to work harder so now I’m putting this gym throw stuff and the sort of straight stuff totally totally and then finally yeah yeah and he’s like I’m gonna come visit you want to come visit I’m like no dude I can’t even see straight.” Like, I don’t need someone in town, I have to, I can’t, I don’t have any resources to eat them, like host you, you can’t hear a visit. – Or the emotional energy to give to somebody. – Oh, I’m not there. But at the same time, he kept pressing, kept pressing, he kept pressing, he ended up on the phone for three to four hours every day. And I would fall asleep on the phone. – You’re so funny. I He was amazing the coolest yeah, there’s a little bit of a moving from my life. Yeah, I thought it was great And so finally his idea come visit. I’m like all right. We’re gonna make a break it Yeah, we need to stop spending three years. Yeah, totally totally so come on out here with me each other, but I am not Hosting you you’re not staying with me. You better have friends you can hang out with I love this I was like, huh? Yeah, I did a Berge station five on five thought there and then my blood was there there I Okay, come on out. So he did and he was better person than he was. Yeah. Yeah, and I was like shit. Yeah. No, yeah, but it didn’t even matter. No, like he was so amazing. Yeah. Yeah, and he went and saw my gym and he laughed. Like what is this? Like like Mickey Mouse bullshit that you guys are being here. What is it? You can always. No one here is fit. No one here. Yeah, and you know, I’m everywhere he did bench for some one time and we didn’t have enough guys That stood in the corner and their jaws were on both I don’t think they’ve ever seen anyone as he’s repping out. Yeah, you know, yeah repping out Five times as much as a mess totally totally like yeah, yeah, yeah… Totally totally I think someone would be like a contribution to it. Yeah, his workplace. Yeah, and look how little while what a difference and so that kind of opened my eyes up into that he’s like you’re coming to a seminar. I’m teaching seminar Texas. Yes weekend. You’re coming with me. Oh my god. I said, but I need two weeks notice and I’ve got permission. Yeah, what a funny talk. You’re coming. Yeah, causes flight attendant. Yeah, but I’m like, oh my god. He goes, you’re coming. But I hear that. I don’t care. Oh my god. I’m gonna get fired. He goes, I don’t care. Yeah. – Calls is flight attendant. Books my trip. – Oh my God. – I was like, “Buh-oh.” – He goes, “You’re coming.” I’m like, “But I hear that, I don’t care.” – Oh my God. – And I’m like, “I’m gonna get fired.” He goes, “I don’t care.” – Yeah. – And I’m like, “What?” – Yeah. – Wait, what do you, he’s like, “I got it, you’re fine. I got you, don’t worry about it.” – Yeah, yeah. – And I was like, “Oh my God.” So again, I asked for a time-off. – Yeah. – And they were mad. – Yeah. – They were mad that I wanted the time-off and told me that if I was gonna go, they should leave my key. Because if I didn’t come in on Saturday and Sunday my clients wouldn’t come in. Yeah, I was like, but they only have like 10 clients. Yeah, yeah. 50 bucks. Like I’m gonna go get a certain key. That’s gonna make me a trainer. That would make you want money. Yeah, yeah. They didn’t like it because it wasn’t their idea. And before whatever they were. Exactly. And they were petrified that you were gonna go somewhere and be told that you aren’t as worthless as ever, made you feel all this time. – I learned more. – Exactly, exactly. – So I was like, whatever. So you know what, if you don’t want me to learn, this is not the place for me. ‘Cause I am 20, when I was 23, 23, 25, I’ve got to learn. I’ve got to a lot to learn. This isn’t the NOB be all yeah a career be the fitness industry. Yeah, you need to open your brain Yeah, totally. Yeah. Yeah, and Rob called Berkey at station 505 and said Berkey Yeah, the phone and so I walk into station kind of you know Petify yeah, and he’s that it’s a gym a Jim Jones Jim. Yeah, awesome. Okay in Michigan. Yeah, so Jake Watson uncle Clark and yeah, yeah, yeah, awesome. Yeah, so I walk into the day with one of my dad’s and I was like And Frankie looks at me and opens his arms up. Oh And he goes welcome to the family and literally wraps his his arms around me and gives me how, because he knows I’m petrified. And I was like, “Wow, I love these people.” And they’re treating me like more of a family than the place I just worked for for four years. – Totally. – And I focus everything. – Every single day of day, twice a day. – Yeah. – I’m putting on my clients’ day. Do whatever I wanted to do. They didn’t question me, they didn’t believe me in front of my client. We would have this thing that we called church every Sunday. We’d have a training session, we’d bond and we’d talk, ask each other questions and we’d learn from each other. I’m like, “Where am I born?” What is going on? We had this session where we hang out and we talk to each other. – I know. And you actually care what I have to say. And you want to learn from me? Yeah, and we all want to get better. Yeah, we don’t think that we already know everything. So that was major opening for me. And so then I started working less hours and making my money because I got to charge and I wanted to turn to my clients and I paid the gym. And so all he wanted was the flat right chair. He never heard of the gym. It wasn’t overboard. It was perfect. I and they just were the nicest people and had my back. And we’re encouraging and if I did something, well that was cool and why do that or what you just do? And vice versa, I mean I have no ways. And it was the best group of people that I had or met. And it was, I started sleeping a little bit more. Like I wasn’t scared, when I put a work I wasn’t sweating. – Yeah. – Like I wasn’t having that, that, that… – And you could sit down. – I can sit down. – Yeah. – I can hands my body. – Yeah, yeah. – It’s so interesting that it’s like, like it’s so interesting how many people out there will continue to struggle because they’re afraid that something might actually be worse. – Oh yeah. – But it’s like until you actually kind of meet your tribe and you feel valued and appreciated, you don’t know how good things can actually be. – That’s the thing, right? I mean, I had tortured myself for four years before the time. – Yeah, four years is a long time. – Two years is a long time to yourself and do such a whole. – Yeah. – Where, you know, they had this expectation on me too, that at that particular employment was I needed to look a certain way, see a certain way, act a certain way, present myself a certain way and every facet. – And that makes you second guess your natural instincts and like what you know as well. And isn’t it interesting that it sometimes takes us, someone else to come along and see us like the way that we actually are, but see us for that, for us to see ourselves that way. – You can’t see way. I can’t see it when I was in it. I mean even the acupuncture so you don’t sit down. She could talk about my energy. She’s like you don’t stop. It’s because you’re scared. It’s not because you’re a wonder woman. It’s not because you’re amazing. You’re no better than anyone else. You are just running. You’re running too hot too much. And I couldn’t. I was helping. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. And training and you know, when I just didn’t realize that I was doing to my body. And then it took me, it took me, I moved out here. It’s been a big year for two, only two years in December that I have been here but I’ve been dating Rob since like actually this time actually met him two days two years ago. Oh, that’s so nice. I can’t even try exactly. Oh my god, I’m so happy that we’re actually having this conversation today. Yeah, that is so the change in your part. That was the moment moment. That was the moment. – Yeah. – That was the moment. – Yeah. – Yeah. – But literally, like today, two years ago. – I love it. And because I love it, because you love your life so much. – Oh my God. – Like, I never imagined I would be here. – Yeah. – In a million years. – Yeah. – And when he told me he was gonna take care of me when I lost my job, he might have to be worried about it. – Yeah, and you’ve taken care of him. And what I love as well, we’re gonna get into this now is you, something that I can see how much he loves about you is you hold your own. Like you’re you, like it’s like, and you’ve got your own thing going on and you’re like crushing it. You actually are. And so I love it because that story is beautiful ’cause he’s like, I’ve got you but it’s like you only needed him to To show you like what you already had in Sajee and then once that was brought out you had your own thing going on. Someone just said for you. Yeah underrated. Definitely. Because even when he, when I was like I can’t believe my job isn’t really fine. I’ve got you. Yeah. Look at that meant. And the fact that the reason of the fact that the way that I trusted him. Totally. I can’t believe my idea. Yeah. I And he did yeah, there was a point when I came out to visit and you know I were dating and all that and he knew he knew I was worried I didn’t even tell him I didn’t even say oh so worried about this or what about I? Yeah, and he took his credit card and put it in my wallet, and he goes you know use this when you need to and I was so taught it wasn’t like that to ask for it Yeah, he didn’t send it on the table Yeah, put it in, he put it in my wallet and put it in my purse and close it and put it in my purse, like this is yours now. And I never touched it, didn’t have to. – Yeah, totally but it’s still it like you did it helped me out because I knew that if I got into a big really big pickle Something happened medical. Yeah, something happened if I got sick and couldn’t couldn’t go to the gym for a few days. Yeah, I knew that I had someone who had my bag any dinner Yeah, yeah, yeah… that I had someone who had my bag, any dinner. I had breakfast, lunch, and dinner that day. That was enough to help me just, it looks like. Because I was on my own. If I decided that it wasn’t gonna go work and get a paycheck, I would have been on the street. I didn’t have help from my interactions. – And it’s America. – It’s America. It’s real. And learning that lesson is a young adult. So it was definitely having someone that actually believed in me and trusted me. It showed me what I could do too. – Yeah, it did. – Like, oh, I have this, but I don’t need it. Because I’m gonna make this work. – Totally. – I am. – And it’s a daily reminder to see it totally And you can get back up totally keep going but yeah, and then it made me more willing to even take that leap, right? Like, you don’t really want to… If you don’t have a safety net, it’s just not a scarier. But if you have a safety net or you know you’ve got support behind you, that doesn’t mean way more. Just knowing that someone’s gaggard back if you fall. Yeah, totally. It’s completely different. I know. Totally. So then you came down here for… You’re’t to Texas for your level one, Jim Jones. – Yeah. – And then you went back and you were working at with Bohe. – Yes. – And then how did you then move to Utah? What happened there? – Literally, we met September 26th. – Yeah. – And then, yeah, September 26th. And then it was, we were engaged, remember, eighth? -. Yeah, and then moved to December 10th. Yeah It’s like but when it’s the right thing it’s right thing and it’s a thing about it. They’re like how did that happen? How did you go? So how did you I just knew yeah? Like it wasn’t even I didn’t second guess it. Yeah, I have like a feeling and I put it my stomach. Yeah, I you know I came out here and visited a few times between yeah, so I came up for Thanksgiving, I came out for other stuff and I loved Utah. – Yeah, it’s so beautiful. And I didn’t expect this was gonna be somewhere. I could visit four times in one year. Like I didn’t find it. Like a lot of people are like, Utah, what are you going back there for? I’m like, where do you go? Yeah, this game. Yeah, wait till you go. Obviously I’ve been coming back for Jim Jones, but I’ve stayed longer each time because of Utah. – It’s lovely. It’s lovely. – And the cold. I think I like the coldy better. – I like I love the summer. – They both love the summer. – They both love the summer. – They’re both amazing, yeah. – And you’ve got the skiing and the mountains and the snow. – Well in the last four days I’ve been like sunburn in the sun because it’s been so hot and I’ve been in the snow. – So hot. – Yeah, spring you’ve been pregnant as well. So it’s probably felt hotter. Oh – No, you were saying you get hot when you’re pregnant is an understatement. – Yeah. – But when it’s 105 out, it’s just a whole different. – Oh, oh. – Yeah, it’s unpleasant. – Oh, it would be terrible. – I can’t say it moved here. – Yeah, so you moved here to December 10th. – Yeah. – Yeah, 2014. – Yeah. – Okay, and how then what was your, like what has happened between then and now? – So my goal when I walked into this gym was to be fit, yeah, okay. I gotta I find his like girl. Yeah, I need to like not hold my own I need to be someone yeah, yeah my biggest thing and yeah sweetness was cardio. Yeah, and you were really were you at these points still like paleo? Yeah, okay, so it was funny cuz I getting wrong. – Yeah. – So I was like, what the hell is this? – Yeah, yeah, yeah. – What are you doing? – This guy thinks burgers are bitty, a guy thinks burgers are like fast food. – Yeah. – And I’m like, yeah, I don’t know how that happened. I really know how that happened. – Yep. – And people even asked me, like, how do you stay in your diet when you’re around him? – Yeah. – And I’m like, well, my diet wasn’t even necessarily a, it was worse because I got ice donkakes. – Yeah, totally. – So I only went paleo. – It wasn’t aesthetic. – It wasn’t too, to be, you know, part of the cool kids club. – Yeah. – It wasn’t like that. – Yeah. – I didn’t have anything necessarily against, I really liked healthy food because I thought I did good things for your body. – Yeah. – So if you have anything that balances and things like that, I think that you can actually do more with food, you can buy it. – 100%. – Like you can do it. – Oh well, I just had had an article in the paper on the weekend on exactly that. – Really? – Yeah, yeah, I’ll have to show you it, I didn’t show you it. – Really, really get it in your mouth, your food that you have to do from a vitamin and I’ve taken actually multiple blood tests and skin tests that test your body, how well you absorb your vitamins and your oils and all that. One of the vitamin companies had a skin scan and tested the… I don’t know how it is science. So I describe things to them. I think they call it physics. Something went up, something went down. Science. Science Oh my god, that’s so what are you doing you’re like I ate a pound of raw and I thought you can get out of your food yeah yeah yeah totally yeah yeah totally yeah yeah yeah totally yeah, yeah, yeah… I Yeah When you’re burning that hot totally he can’t and I’m gonna tell you I couldn’t consume enough calories Yeah to make my body go. Yeah for a way it should have been otherwise I would have my cycle I would have a better. Especially when I came here I picked up cardio. So I was running biking up canyons and I’m not biting. And the altitude is always going twice as hard as I was doing two days. I WTS. Skaying. 30, 90s. Skaying. Love the skiing. You need your calories back. You can’t do it. I’m sorry. But I couldn, but I couldn’t get my period back. Yeah, I could yeah, and you would have questioned. Yeah, I was gonna crash. Yeah, I mean, I never want that great on the cardio machines. Yeah, I couldn’t pull. Yeah, push. Yeah. And it’s already with those things like the roller in the back and the ski as well. It’s like it works against you if you don’t weigh a lot as well. So if you don’t weigh a lot you’re gonna have to have a like a hell of a lot Yeah, yeah, yeah, you can’t just sit down on that ski I mean you can but you Yeah. – The skis actually working out. (laughing) – But that’s kind of what it felt like. And the bike, I had nothing. Like on an air fit or an air fry. Like you just, if you don’t have the KGs, you don’t have the watts. It’s just part of the thing. – It’s true. – But I started eating more and he just kind of coaxed it, coaxed it, coaxed it. So instead of not adding a bun on a burger, half a bun on a month or something or yeah steamed rice or yeah some for a potato or whatever it was you just kind of push me in that direction and then he taught me to do this little masking programs and then so I did and I ended up getting a little sleep better and I have not had vertical since I’ve been herexabotations, not a way. I have to talk about now. So it’s like, yeah, that was a late journey about. Oh my God. And this is something I want to talk about now. So like, what is your role? Officially at Jim Jones. And what does that look like? And what are your expectations? And then something else I really want to talk about is like your daily rituals, your routine. Like, because the biggest thing I feel that changed the direction of my whole year was listening to you talk at level one last year about priorities and nutrition. And like I walked away from level one and I already knew the Jim Jones philosophy and I knew I was super aligned with it massively. I sat there during your part on the Sunday and it was like like I could not believe it because I was in that cycle of working, you know, getting up, working at like 4.30, like, you know, till 10 and the exact same thing, if I got into bed in the middle of the day, I could not move. I could not get back up. And I was like training harder, training harder. And I went the opposite direction to you. I put on weight. I was one of those people that got puffy and was like holding on to weight. It was like my body was like afraid we were like going into a famine because I was running so hard. And the less I ate and the more excited I did the kind of just puffier I got. And it was interesting because I met you then and you were like, I don’t set an alarm in the morning. You know, I do this and this and this. And I was like, whoa. And it’s really put it into perspective, getting to know you more and knowing the path that you’ve followed to get there. But yeah, that’s something I want you to talk a lot about because I think that it’s just amazing the respect you give your life and your body. So tell me first then what your role here in Jim Jones is. – So when I came here, and I started making those changes exactly what you’re talking about, I was like, okay, there’s something that happens with a female’s body. It’s different than a male’s body. And I have very different reactions to things like Rob’s like, the way that he eats his patterns and things. And the things that we preach here, I do. And I was like, oh, I can’t do that. And I knew I knew I was talking to women to more and realize like, not the only one. Like, I’m not the only chicken here that kind of has that same problem. Yeah. Yeah. So like, there’s a lot here that I really want to talk about. And we did the, um, the level one women’s only, which I think was huge. And it was great. Yeah. But what I, what I’ve had to really light and I’ve bang lied and I begged Lisa Boshard and Rob both when I came here I was like you guys I wanted to be a women’s specific seminar. I don’t think the one that understood what I was saying. And I was like no no no no like about women. Because the more work I did on the paleo stuff the more I realized this is not good for women. Yeah. Wait a minute, wait a minute. Yeah. Our hormones are different than men. Yeah. Our systems are different than men. The way that we can have a better ability to burn fat and do the way that we have different muscle type, yeah. We have fibrous type one, type two, and distribution in our body. The way that our strength and power works compared to a man. And different objectives. Just objective. Yeah. Different. We take things a different way. And the way that Rob phrases something to a man, where he phrases it to me. I take it two different objectives. Yeah. We take things a different way and the way that Rob phrases someone to a man where he phrases it to me. Totally. I take it two different ways. Totally. And I’m like, you know, in our period, like, yeah, that can affect your training. Totally. And our bones and our, and our, and our anatomically we’re doing. Yeah. Why is it every time I go to a woman, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s frustrating. Yeah, because you sit there and you think my program is off. I’m eating is off something’s wrong with me Why can’t I follow this program? Yeah, and I’ve had days even when I’ve gotten into the gym and I’m trying to do the warm-up with the guys and I want to start crying I’m like I have no strength. I don’t have any like I’m so hard and warm up and I’m full of strength and I program is on and I’m so I’m just quit and you know, I have these like breakdowns totally random days. Yeah, yeah, what is wrong with me? And you talk to your male trainerm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And you talk to your male trainer and he has no idea what I’m talking about. And they like I don’t even want to talk about this. I don’t know what you’re saying. Mm-hmm. You talk to the guys in the gym and they don’t know what you’re saying. No. It is a women’s specific issue. Yeah, totally. And I’m like, we even do a women’s specific seminar. Yeah. And I want to figure out all this shit. I want to figure out, you know, how we’re psychologically different and how we’re different, how we’re totally different. Mm-hmm. I want to talk about how we are unique. I want to figure out how we’re psychologically different and totally different. I want to talk about how we are unique. I want to talk about pre and postnatal. I want to talk about menopause. I want to talk about a female triad. I want to talk about anorexia and bulimia. I want to talk about the fact that you can’t clean and snatch and jerk the right way if your boots are too big. I want to talk. I love it. I want to get into it. It’s a thing and it sucks. It’s not discussed in its research. And so we finally put together our first one. Program. So awesome. And I did it with Jenna Link. And she’s genius. We have found all the research that we couldn’t have ever been able’t and still coming in women aren’t studied. Yeah, as you know, hardly at all because we’re very complicated. Yeah, we must be just like men exactly like no, we’re not celebrating the difference like men like at all Yeah, but the same time doesn’t be more less capable. We got yeah, yeah different Exactly. Yeah, you don’t have to do everything in man does so that’s what I want to celebrate. Yeah, that we are very Yeah I had children my hipster different than you do or my abs are you know, dais dases in my abs Yeah, you know, you got all sorts of different things in you do and get it doesn’t make us better or worse it just is different and It’s funny like you said that we should just take it because I even went to a breastfeeding class and she was talking about how to hold a baby and your breasts and this and that and she closed the door the door in the hospital. We’re actually at a hospital. Those classes in the education like weighing them in the hospital. And I’m like closing the door for what like, you’re afraid that someone’s like, so I’m promising. – Wow. – You’re talking about your breasts. – Wow. – Like what is so important. – And breastfeeding. – Yeah, yeah. – So she had these like this little like favorite movements kind of that she was like laying over her chest and kind of use it as an example. – Yeah. – And it had a cover on it. Like she had to lift the cover. – Oh my god. – So you can see the nipple because you got it from bed like. Like Yeah, in proper about that. Yeah, why do we have to like make women’s health like so sneaky and weird exactly Yeah, yeah, yeah… You need the men to talk about it with your female clients. Totally. Because if I’ve got something going on where I’m pregnant or I’m on a period where I’m having, I lost my period. If I walk up to my male trainer, and by the way, most trainers are men. Especially coaches and collegiate, like college athletes and a lot of coaches are males. And I walk up to my trainer and I say, “I asked her in my period and he’s blushing. Yeah, totally. You need to be the top to your coach. Totally. To your health issues. Yeah. And you know, in certain things that are going on with your body, like he needs to, you know, your coach needs to know that kind of stuff when you have an other health issue. And if a coach either doesn’t, either doesn’t understand it, be, gets all embarrassed about it. Yeah. I’m not going to want to tell you that stuff. Never. But as a coach, it’s gonna want to tell you that never totally and then even in terms of like not even just the health side of things but the performance other things of like muscle growth and the difference in training capability and like training needs like it’s like we talked about at the advanced seminar a couple weeks ago on our like mass game day The girls were all laughing because one of the workouts at the end was kind of supposed to be a bit more of a breathing workout and it was 20 minutes of max push-ups pull-ups and dips and the girls we like there were some really strong girls there and we couldn’t do as many of those movements to get a cardio workout we just physically couldn’t do the movements And so it was like if it had been lunges squats and you know something else, we totally would have had this in effect. So I did a one of our example work on this for the Women’s Specific Seminar this year was Jenna and I decided to get everyone in a group and I had the men and the women do max closeups of 10 minutes. Yeah. Yeah. And then we had men and women do max squats for 10 minutes. Yeah. And then we had men and women do max ruffles 10 minutes. Yeah, yeah, and then we had many women do max squats for 10 minutes Yeah, and then we had men women do max records. Yeah. Yeah, and recorded everyone’s numbers. Yeah, so girls versus guys. Yeah for the max push-up test. Yeah, the girls were between 60 and 80 push-ups. Yeah, the guys were between 180 and 200. Wow and everyone here at Jim Giants just so you know does push-ups on their toes. There is no one does no one does on their knees. Nothing. It’s real push-ups chest to ground. Yeah, like thighs don’t hit the ground like chest to the ground. Yeah, yeah, like they’re beautiful. So yeah So it’s you can actually compare men and women in this so because they’re doing the same thing That’s really interesting. So 60 to 80 and then 180 plus. And then for the squats, we have the men and the women. Pretty similar? I already know. You know it. I think they were about like the 180 to 100. Yeah. Yeah. Great. And then we have the rack hold and the two leaders were one Wow, and so what was the racholed with kettlebells? Yeah, yeah, yeah… so who can hold the longest and the girls I was the only person person who threw up all our numbers was calling. Yeah, we’re rare to choose a climber. Yeah, they’re always trained those muscles totally the difference in men and women is a different fiber type so yeah, we can hold things Yeah longer. Yeah, longer with the upper body but we don’t have as much explosivity. Yeah. Where men have like it just take one type two to the other body as women don’t. Yeah. So we are we can’t explode but we sure as hell can hold. Yeah. And isn’t that interesting like because I train men and women and work with men and women. I didn’t know that about the holding thing. Like it’s like sometimes I’m very unsympathetic to boys who can’t hold things. – I do. – Yeah, I’m like– – Just like they’re unsympathetic when I can’t push them. – Totally. – You want that many push-ups out of me, you better hold this for a long time. – Yeah, yes. – You’re 100% very holding. – Yeah. – I’m ready to think about– – I’m losing, yeah. – You think about a lotion? – Yes. – That’s what we do, we hold I’m raising you. Yes. Totally. I love it. And I think that that is such an interesting, I love that this direction of Jim Jones, like they’re going in this direction as well. And I love that you’ve created this for us. So it’s, yeah, no, it’s amazing. – I’m excited about it and the thing that I really want to make sure that I’m saying before we change subject is that it doesn’t mean we can’t do it. It doesn’t mean we can’t pull up, it doesn’t mean we can’t push up. It doesn’t mean we can’t wrap out of the one-wrap max on a bench basket. We are completely capable of doing so. It’s just harder for us to do it. – Exactly. – So for example, if I’m having my guys and my girls and they say they’re equally as strong, if I’m having a guy do 10 pull-ups, I want my girls to five. Because in the same amount of rounds, if I do 10 rounds or whatever other, it’s gonna tax them about the same weight. Like they’re gonna put a man’s face and look at a woman’s face and they’re going through a workout like that, we’re gonna go about even. Because it’s just more taxing for us. We don’t recover. So you’ll find that you’re talking about laughing about how the girls had to do max, moods, dips and playing pools. – Yeah. – The reason it’s not funny is because we stand there and stare at the plank. You can’t, cause you can’t pull. – No. – I mean, when you go to a pushup, you can’t do a pushup. – Yeah. – What happens? – I was, McGen or the bottom was stuck at the bottom. – But, yeah, if we go back to the bottom, we’re like, oh no. – Yeah. So you’re not standing around waiting for the blood to be in your arms. Yeah. And it just ends up not being hard to get to any degree. And do you know what I think as well is this, what so much value of what you’re bringing to this is actually like I noticed it during the advanced. I also noticed it during the level one on the weekend is men were shocked that women could actually do so much. Like a lot of the male trainers that were here at level one were like, “Oh, oh, like I don’t need to wrap a girl in Cotton Wall just because she’s a girl or just because she’s got her period or something.” So it’s like, “I need to be aware of all the female, you know, health concerns that can arise, but that doesn’t mean that she can’t do it.” And it was really, really, it’s been really interesting for me. I spend a lot of time traveling around and training with different people. I really like doing that. And one of the main reasons I do it is I like to learn from every different trainer. Yeah, I love it. And something that I find sometimes I noticed that a guy will be like, you know, okay, do you think you can hold the rower at two minutes per 500? And I’m like, look at me. Like I weigh 145 pounds. I’ve now moved into pounds. I’m like just done that or something. And I’m like five foot nine. Like I can row. Like I’m built to row, but sometimes I’ll be like, I’ll try. Like I’m like, if you underestimate me, I’m just gonna be that. Like and I’m so often old trained somebody who’s previously trained with somebody who’s underestimated them So I’m gonna I’m in his gender’s here old train a woman who’s previously trained with a guy who’s been like I don’t know what you can do and I’m like You can’t trick me like I know exactly what you can do because I know exactly what I can do and I that’s something I really respect about what you’ve brought to this is it’s not now that women have an excuse and it’s the opposite to that it’s yeah we have different needs we have different health issues but that doesn’t mean you get away with anything well my thing is is that I’m there’s two different kinds of women mm-hmm there’s the woman that will break her knee or break her leg and she’s still coming in your trunk yeah yes yes I I’m the kind of person that wants to come in. I don’t care. I don’t care. I’ll just tell them. – Yeah. – Oh, everybody. – Yeah, exhibit I run. – Yeah. – I can’t, but the scared, I’ll sit down. – Oh my God. – I’ll sit down. – I can’t, you know, like if I can’t tell them about it. – I’m skate, by the way. Not just sit down and do nothing. Sit down and skate. You need to know that. Yeah. – I’m not gonna do nothing. Just because I don’t feel good that day. I’m gonna go. But having a reason of why. So if there’s a day that I just want to cry because I can’t lift anything off the ground, 200 pounds glued to the ground, I’m a delive which I can do that cold any time you get. Why doesn’t I want to go up today? Oh, okay. So I’m not doing something wrong. I’m not screwing up. I haven’t gone backwards. I’m also doing it. Yeah. Exactly. It’s just that this is what’s going on. Totally. I just understand and be gentle with yourself. Yeah, totally. And sometimes you just go do that. Exactly. It’s just a time and a day and as, you know, when you talk to men, you don’t have to function with no problem. So they don’t understand if Rob follows his program. Yeah. And nothing happens. He doesn’t have a seminar. He doesn’t have any additional straws. There’s no variables there. Yeah, and he recovers right in each right and trains right. He’s always gonna be able to PR or totally fit his program and keep growing. Yeah. Yeah, as a woman. Yeah, you can’t. You’re gonna have fluctuation. Yeah, and it’s okay. Totally. But don’t freak out. Totally. And that is my message. Totally totally I want my message to be is like You’re not you are special. Yeah, but you’re not incapable of doing it. I just want you to understand like if you’re eating paleo Yeah, and your skin is orange Yeah night sweats and your palpitations you can’t sleep. Yeah for hours in a for hours at a time and wake up going and sweating and your heart’s pounding out of your chest. That’s not good. That’s not regular stress. That’s not just you being stressed out. That is like over training, under eating, cortisol level, hormone issue. You need to change that problem. Exactly. You don’t want to lose your period. You don’t want to get sick, you’re going to fit into that female triad type of situation. This is for the woman that over-trains and goes really really hard. It’s just something that I wish I would have known. Totally. And I want people to know what I went through trying to fit this mold and eat a certain way and do all that and be obsessive compulsive. Totally. Because I thinkCause I think that being healthy, I’m damaging damage. – Totally. And then there’s that type of girl, and then there’s the other type of girl who will use it as an excuse. – Oh my God, if I have another girl that comes in here, I was like, “Oh, I found a period.” – Yeah, I found her anything. – It happens every month. – Yeah, I know. – How old are you? You’ve had it 600 times now. – I know. – And I know it too. I get it it. Yeah, that today’s not a priority for you. Yeah. Today’s not a day that I’m giving you the hard support of the week. Yeah. This is how I handle this situation is you’re not gonna go as hard as normally do. Give me what you thought. Yeah. You know, if we need to take it down, we need to take it down. Yeah. If you’re feeling tight in your hipster sore, you know, he’s got relaxed and running through your body your body. Yeah, yeah period. Yeah feeling a little unstable Let’s just do cardio today. Totally. And that’s fine. Totally. You’re still gonna get something out of it. Yeah, I’ve heard that. Yeah, doesn’t need more work on the rower. Yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah, and then coming next time that’s what we’ll do that look exactly and I love that because sometimes as well, I know that I just need to be validated. Like I just need to tell somebody, oh, I’m tired, and for them to go be like, cool, okay, well let’s just see how you go. And then I’ll do exactly the same thing that I was supposed to do anyway. But it’s like, it’s interesting because there’s, yeah, there’s definitely the type of person that wants to use anything as an excuse. And it’s important to to recognize that but the biggest thing I think as well as a coach and anybody who’s listening is you have to get to know the person in front of you and know which one of that they are because then no matter what it is you can extract extract the best out of them. So yeah, I think that knowing everything that you can know about women and men is the like it’s so important That’s your base but getting to know the person in front of you and as an individual is equally important and you do that as well techniques are huge and there’s a difference you men Yeah, look this up. Yeah, yeah, I’m a coaching style. Yeah Me personally and I’m such a person who’s afraid of failure. Yeah, no one can be harder on myself than me Yeah, I don’t need you to tell me that I’m doing good enough or I’m not going to fast enough. I don’t know where I’m supposed to be. I don’t know I’m not there. I’m very aware. Totally. None of this like you need to worry faster. It was so funny at the advanced when I was doing my 2K roll. I don’t know if I told you this. I had my headphones in and my music in and somehow I put my music on the same song. It repeated for the whole 2K roll. It was the funniest but you know what, at one stage all these people were looking at me and pointing in directions and I was like, “Can you?” I’m in a different kind of hole right now because I just keep hearing this Lord song that goes for two minutes, 35 over and over. But I can’t hear you and I’m really happy because I don’t want to hear any encouragement from you. I know exactly what I need to do. And as a coach, you should figure that out straight away. It’s like, what does somebody respond well to? Like what I need when I’m training is I need somebody remote to remind me of technique because as soon as something gets hard and I get tired I just want to get sloppy technique and get it done because I’ve got this inability to fail but it’s like doing wrong technique is actually a different form of failure but so I just need someone to say chest up, shoulders back, get your bum down, knees out. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And that’s exactly what you do with me. Yeah, it’s really good. Yeah You can do it. I’m like watch me punch you in the face Yeah,, I know what I’m supposed to do. Calmly down. If anyone’s got themselves in a tizzy, I’m getting myself into a tizzy. Calm me down. That helps me a lot. Rob figured this out with me. It’s interesting. I accused him of sabotaging me. You want to get 30/90. You want to be to do 15 rounds and go up one each round. You just work out. – Totally., totally 30 seconds on 90 seconds rest in the 90 seconds rest But did you have to do anything else? I think it was push-ups or squats or deadlifts or something. It’s something you have to get complete in the 90 seconds, but the 30 seconds is your work. Right. Mm-hmm. So this is my workout and I think I was gonna push up something. I think I was pushing through those doing. That was fine. That was in tax and no, it was great. But going up one’m like, okay, so turn up 120. Okay. Escape? Yeah. Okay. So I did that the first time ever. And the group people did it all. He’s staring at me. I thought I was going to explode. I was going to implode from the inside. Like 135 meters. Yeah. Little 18 little. – 18 pounds. – Yeah, you want like a little white. – It’s a lot for me. – Yeah. – I’ve struggled. – Yeah, that’s hard. 135 is hard. – It’s hard. – And I swore to God that I could not have gotten more meters. Like if they got it was one, it wasn’t 136. – Yeah, yeah, yeah. – You were done. – Done, done, done. And so the next week, he was like, all right, you now and go up to 15 rounds?” And I was like, the first thing I thought of was, “That’s sabotaging me. I can’t do that. I can’t do that. I don’t know what I’m gonna end at 140. 45, I almost died. It’s not gonna happen. I can’t do 15 rounds. I can’t do 15 rounds. I can’t do 15 rounds. And then you’re like, “Oh yeah, energy. Can I say?” – Very good. – And it’s five Vedasas like when you actually think about it. Yeah, yeah, oh my god for bid and I had to do that and I had myself in touch with Tizzy because I am a rule father Yeah, I’d like to get 15 rounds. Yeah one each round and if I was going to fail like yeah, I was a failure Yeah, yeah, yeah, so I got like seven rounds in a blow up. Yeah, yeah, yeah… round six. – Yeah. – And I’m like, I’m like, oh, like, I’m out of love. – It’s so odd. And you’re like, hey, it’s like, you got this last week. You’re not even at the bed that you couldn’t do. – Exactly. I was even at the point where I was like, that’s me. – Totally. – And he was like, you’re’re like, “Hey, it’s like you got this last week.” You’re not even at the bed that you couldn’t do. – It seemed like I was even at the point where I was like, “Totally.” – Yeah. – And he was like, “You’re so like, hurting yourself. I would have been fine if you ended at 12 rounds.” – Yeah. – And you got to like 137 in Blue Law. – Yeah. – And I was like, “You stopped yourself.” – Yeah. – But I was so obsessed with the rules of the game. – Totally. – Like. It was a 30 and 90. And if you didn’t do that, then therefore you were failing. And so I didn’t want to feel the workout. So I knew that I’d do go to the end of the earth to get there. I wasn’t capable of it. And that was when he learned with me. So what he did was he phrased things like, why don’t you start between 125? Yeah and get between 12 to 15 rounds. Yeah, perfect. So I said, okay. Yeah, oh I can do that. It was 17 rounds. I got to 145. Yeah. And then it’s totally no matter what happened. Yeah, I wasn’t failing. Nothing. There was nothing beautiful. You and I know this. Then there’s something something they’ve learned is that if you’re gonna get your all totally That’s all you want ever want exactly and that’s something I think people forget about when I come here. Yes. Yeah, if you have heart Yeah, and you go hard. Yeah, and you go into you can’t go anymore. Yeah, that’s what the work has about. It’s not about 12 rounds. It’s not about 15 rounds. It’s not even really about going on one each round. It’s about yeah, keeping it your best. You can get your best about going through this workout and really going all out. Yes, all my god exactly. I’m figuring out what that point of totally totally. And the value of going all out is that you walk out of here knowing you can do anything. Yeah. It’s like, and the result is irrelevant. Like it’s like, and I still remember we did that for level one. We had to do a minute on the bike and Rob, oh my God, it was like the funniest thing ever. He walks around the room and he looks at you and he just goes 35. He looked at me 35 calories and then the next person 75, like the car, some guy. And it’s like the rule was the rules of this game were, and this was so funny to watch everybody. You had to hit that number. You didn’t hit that number. You had to do it again. Okay. And that was the rule of the game. And it was so funny because everyone just went into this like, Oh my God, I’ve already done. Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. Like they completely forgot that if he told you that number, he knows that you can do it. Like, that’s what I looked at you and gave you that number. And I still remember I just went for it and I ended up getting like 45. And the number to me was representative of the fact that I left nothing there. And the reason I left nothing there was because he looked at me and he had an expectation of me. And it’s like sometimes that can make you crumble and sometimes that can make you grow. Like and I seriously walked away from that level one after that and I was like I can do anything. I threw myself into something. I can do anything and obviously I came home and changed my whole career and changed my whole body and changed my whole direction of my life and it wasn’t just the one minute all out but it’s exactly that. It’s like if you go all into something, it’s like nothing can break you. – Nothing can break you. – Yeah. – And you really learn what you’re capable of. – Totally. – And it’s always above what you thought it was. – You’re in a situations where you feel you can’t. – Totally. – You’re like, “Ugh, I think this is better.” – No, like my birthday workout that you gave me, I came in today and I had a massive swagger ’cause was like nothing will be that bad Never mind the fact that I still can’t walk three days later And I’m like if you ask me through a ball against a wall I’m pretty sure I’d have to like headbutt it because I’m gonna throw it but it’s like I was like can do anything. Yeah, totally. It’s like that’s what I’m gonna do to change I’m awesome. Okay, so what I really want to talk now, I think something I ask every person that comes on my podcast is what they, what do they feel like is their purpose in life? Like what do you feel like is your reason for being here? Honestly, it’s back that long, specific stuff. Yeah. As if I could do, if I could give anyone a message or have the, like leave behind, like something I would want someone to take away from, I’d want people to learn from what happened with me personally. Like I did. I I didn’t know it. I wish I could have seen from someone else’s point of view, after doing what I was doing to myself, because I didn’t realize how bad it was and it wasn’t until I moved in with Rob. He gave me a black-down environment in that end-of-the-bed room so I couldn’t see when I stopped. He would go to bed at an eight-night o’clock at night. Which was so weird to me, because I was like, well, I had a sample of 10/30. Why? Because that’s what grownups do. I know. Yeah, I know exactly Yeah, yeah, yeah, because I’d be a loser if I go to bed at night 30 I love telling people I go to bed at night I’m like yeah, I’m like yeah, I guess what I’m doing So I just want you know someone to look at the ability to look at their life and be like you knowYou know what? I need sleep. I need to take care of myself. I need myself first. I need love from someone and support.” I mean, waking up, like I said this, waking up with someone who hugs and kisses you and holds your hand and leaves your notes around the house and tells you how special you are. that stuff, that little stuff, daily routine, you know, that’s your life. You know, you live half your life as work, you live half of your life, like it needs to be something you’re happy with. – No, true. – Especially in both places. – Yeah. – Like you’re happy when you come home and you’re happy when you go to work and you love what you’re doing and you have to go what you’re doing. That seminar, when I teach seminars, especially specific, is so much fun for me. It doesn’t feel like a work day. I get done with a day like that. I’m like, that’s fun. Totally. And it is fun. And it’s so awesome to talk to people because it’s like, it’s interesting that question that I ask of what do you feel is your purpose in life. There’s different people. some people can’t answer it and then there’s some people that can answer it but their daily routine isn’t in line with it and then there’s the third group of people that answer it and their life is so clearly aligned with their purpose every single day. And that’s where you are right now and I think it’s really interesting because I’m constantly talking to people about what do you feel is your purpose? What are you bringing to the world? What are you giving back to you? Like how does it all align and you have created a life where every single day your purpose is at the forefront and your purpose is to educate and empower people but it’s also to present you to the world in the best possible way that you can and by prioritizing you. And that is something that I am constantly teaching people is the most important thing in their life. – What’s the reason that we’ve lost it? – Yes. – Because we’ve lost your ability to put yourself first. – Yeah, I think this is really interesting as well because something I’ve noticed a lot is how many people comment on you and your body since being pregnant. It’s almost like your body doesn’t belong to you anymore and you are no longer your baby is your priority. And it’s interesting because my perception is your baby will be a lot worse off if you don’t take care of you. It’s like you have to be your priority and your baby will benefit so unbelievably well from that. But a lot lot of people I’ve just noticed so many people are like, should you be doing that Lisa about stuff? And it’s like, you’re like, do you think a I don’t know and B I’m not surrounded with the people in the world that know the most about this of anybody and it’s my body and it’s it’s it’s been really interesting for me as an observer to actually see that and it’s my perception is that it’s almost like a woman’s body just doesn’t belong to her. No, well first of all, whether you’re pregnant or not someone you’re going to do for the way that you over eat you want to eat you know right now. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.” or “chap” to taking something. Or you’re a man. Yeah, totally. You’re this self-centered thing. Totally. Imagine you want to look like a woman and it’s like, “Hey, wait, okay, my body.” Yeah, totally. And since I’ve been pregnant, it is definitely interesting to hear people comment about how I’m going to hurt my maybe, maybe it’s gonna fall out. The best is like your baby’s gonna pop out and I’m like, okay. – From where? – Like, is that Ellie button? – That’s my question. If a baby fell out when he were squatting her, that lifted you, I would have a line out the door, around the corner and robbing the blocks six times. Yeah, I get women who are like get me I need to do some squats. Oh my god, that is the funniest thing I’ve ever been going about that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I’m just gonna cough and it’s gonna pop out. Yeah I don’t want myself in positions where I can drop something out of me. Totally. I mean, there’s definitely put the positions you don’t want to be on supine effort. Totally. Second trimester and the students like that that I have followed. In the meantime, I want to talk to any person who hasn’t been pregnant. Yeah. And ask them, does your, you know, what does your body tell you? Yeah. Let me tell you. I don’t care what you want to do. I don’t care what you think you should do. If your body is a one. Totally. It’s what you said. Totally. I would decline some of you that can lay in the back of their parenthesis if you’re fine. I get really nauseated and dizzy. If I recline my chair too far, I get nauseated. My body tells me when I’m doing something I like to do in life. And you’re so tuned into it I love it rather than being like no, but I should be able to do this or I shouldn’t be out of it is no listen you’re gonna tell you and the world would be a completely different place if like people listen to their body. Like it tells you everything. Totally. Yeah. Totally. So coming to the gym and there’s days that I feel good and I push a little harder again. Watching my heart rate, making sure I have the top test right, it’s mean to someone. Yeah, don’t get too hot. Yeah. And not too hot. Maybe even a jeopardized position. But there’s days that I feel like I can drain it so I do and it feels good. Yeah, and that’s totally weird for me. Yeah. Yeah, you want to judge me and tell me about it wrong Yeah, but if I told them I went home eat a pint of ice cream. Yeah. Oh, I’m pregnant to you crazy. Yeah, I had a burger and yeah, I’m not a device cream. Oh, you must be hungry because you’re eating too. Yeah, yeah, know, that’s fine. Do you have a kind of ice cream? Yeah, don’t you? I never thought about that. I never thought about that. Yeah. It’s clearly unhealthy, exactly. Yeah. Totally. Totally. And guess what? You’re babysating. Guess what? It’s a bit of a year. Yeah. And it’s true to it. I mean, there was times when I believe that morning sickness is for some reason. You know, I think it was Beyone’s day. Totally totally totally totally I like Yeah, that’s what we don’t make sense around it’s by how much hate messaging I get for posting certain pictures or videos and it all comes back to people’s own insecurity It’s like it makes me feel better to think that a pregnant woman is like doing more than me like I have to say there’s something wrong with you to make myself feel good. Yeah, totally. Yeah totally eat the Doritos. Yeah, and you look so healthy. So it’s like yeah energy is great Something that’s not talked about enough is how physically fit and strong you should be to bring a baby into, yeah. And it’s like you’ve got to get your body into a state that can support a pregnancy and look after that baby. And so, and I think that that’s one of the reasons why you are doing so well, because you were in that like it’s, that’s why your back is strong. But yeah, there can definitely be other reasons for it as well. But I think if you’re going to comment on this kind of thing, you’ve got to come from somewhere that’s. Exactly. And you also have to know that like a pregnant body doesn’t do stuff. It’s not supposed to be. For example, I’m overheated. Yeah. I get sick. Yeah. I’m like vomit. Yeah. So I’ll come to my cancer still. Yeah., I feel like you’re answering pants. Yeah, your body’s gonna remove you from the situation. Totally. Yeah, you know, yeah, you’re not. I love it. I love hearing all this stuff. I think it’s unbelievable. It’s amazing. I wanted to dictate. Well, if I get pregnant, I can’t what am I going to do? I drink coffee and I get pregnant. What am I going to do about coffee? First of all, good luck drinking coffee. – Yeah, you got so sick. – When you’re first time master, if you can actually consume a cup of coffee, I’ll give you a high five. – Yeah. – Secondly, if there’s nothing wrong with having a cup of coffee, you can’t have six. You can have a small, or even a medium, like you’ve been running 16 ounces. It’s okay to have a moderate amount of caffeine and you should be aware. Oh my god, I love it. Okay, so something I want to talk to you about now, before we wrap up is I want to talk about like what are the non-negotiables in your life? Like what daily rituals do you have? Like what does a normal day look like for you? And kind of comparing pre-pregnancy what that what those were and if they’ve changed the app pregnancy. Oh yeah. My non-negotiables are food. Yeah. It’s almost the number one. Yeah. If I don’t eat right I don’t feel right. Yeah. End of story. Like you know if like everyone’s going the other day and we want to smash burger. Yeah. And I was going to go to be part of the group and it was like I can’t say that much. Sorry, I’m going to go to the grocery to Whole Foods. Yeah. I’m not gonna feel good. I feel the rest of the world. Yeah, the best restaurant. I don’t know anybody who doesn’t think it’s a restaurant. Crazy. Yeah, we went out for lunch today. Yeah. It’s the best, but then be able to eat what I need to be eating and what I’m gonna be eating. Totally. Yeah. And that’s always been an undergrowth bologna life. Yeah. Yeah. It’s always been a thing for me. Yeah, if you’re having fast, but I’d rather actually honestly not eat. Yeah, yeah, something that may be just sick for three hours. Yeah, just not worth it. Yeah, that’s number one. Number two is sleep. Yeah, at this point. Yeah, like I’m not staying up to two o’clock in the morning for no reason. And do you have a really interesting so you make sure your room is completely blacked out? When you sleep in a black-eyed environment, you end up getting is it 50% more? Yeah, wow. Yeah, because human growth moment in testosterone are regenerated by your sleeping and men and women want HDH and testosterone because it increases lane muscle mass, but with more energy, rest, like, you know, if you want to lane up as a girl, boys, you’re growing your muscles at that time. Yeah, it’s the most healthy thing for you. So basically, you can get an actual mock effect of like taking the steroids. Yeah. I mean, that, that diff for you. Yeah. So sleep is huge for me. I have, I was something else I took away from level one and I was just like, I can’t need to sleep. Yeah. It took me on. Because when I moved here, I was running in four hours to sleep. Yeah. Yeah. And I would again wake up that sweating and I’d’t eat to sleep. Yeah, yeah, yeah… I I never think I have one. – Look at making muscles. I’m like, “Hmm, what could be us?” It’s like nutrition sleep. – Yeah, it used to be two a days. – Yeah. – I had to have my two a days. So whether it was training before clients, training with my clients, training after my clients, I had an AM and a PM one every day. – Yeah, awesome. – Non-negotiable. – Yeah. – And since being pregnant, that’s been really hard for me. – Yeah. – I’m not going to lie. I’ve never had a really hard time going then feeling that was enough. Mm-hmm. I got a lot of hard enough. I need to easy myself. Yeah, you know, just because I’m pregnant. He’s had an illness. Yeah training. I can still do this. Yeah, yeah, yeah… totally. And what I love about this is it’s like your job is extremely important to you and to the world, but you’re not going to be any good at it if you fall apart like you’d had years ago. I run and the thing about how I was as a trainer years ago, talked to any of my clients. I wasn’t the nicest, kindest person on the face of the earth. I found that I was because I was so underfed under sleep didn’t sleep. I was so under recovered. I was confused that as a word. Yeah, the word for it and it was I was yeah. Yeah. I was cranky. I was not a good mood. I didn’t have patience. Time or patience for anyone. Not. I mean so it was kind of like my shit right. It was like hard for badass. Totally. Really was I was like. Yeah, yeah, yeah… don’t try yes, I know Yeah, and they genuinely walked in the door. Yeah, exactly. Yeah And so how would you then because one of that people then, Barry as they say, is I don’t have time or like that’s selfish or, you know, like how would you then, ’cause I know how I would speak to somebody like that who tells me, oh I can’t, like I can’t get that much sleep or I can’t prioritize my exercise. I can’t tell my boss that I’ve got to leave work early to get to training or I don’t have time to eat well. What would you say to them? – Why? – Exactly. – You just sit down and talk about why. So when I talked to someone about eating, this is a conversation that was the number one thing that came up back in when I was a machine in the set. I can’t eat right and I why and well it’s really, it’s really hard for why. It’s not easy to find it. And I said, okay, I’m gonna take right now as an example. If I was hungry right now, I could go down the street and go to fast food, or I could go to that grocery store right there. Because there’s as many grocery stores around us that are fast food. Let’s be real. I can walk into the prepared food section because every single grocery store has one. I’m not sure this is the store that’s in the house. Can you buy a chicken breast? Can you buy one of those big containers of organic bliss? Can you buy a lemon?? Yeah, can you buy one of those big? Organic bless. Yeah, can you buy a lemon? Yeah, great. You have lunch like you get to choose every single day. And that’s the biggest thing I say to people when they tell me the reasons why they can’t do something, I’m like, you’re choosing not to do it. – Right, I know those things too, even if you, this just break it down to this, even if you go to a gas station, why are you not grabbing a bag of rhonuts? So why are you grabbing a Snickers bar? – Exactly. – Like, – Exactly, because that’s what you want. – And an apple, grab a bag of rhinos. – Yeah. – You know, all my cashews, whatever, and an apple. – A water. – Yeah. – Or banana, any water. – Yeah. – I mean, even way better off. – Yeah, totally. – With the Snickers. – Totally, I love it. So what do you feel like the future looks like for you? – You know, I’m– – Where are you going? (laughs) – Having a little man has definitely changed kind of where I saw myself. – Yeah. – Going. – Yeah myself. I wasn’t sure if I was ever a cat kid. I wasn’t sure, I wanted to train, obviously, to get that going. I keep building women’s program. But now that I’m pregnant, it’s kind of giving me another voice. Being a woman. Now, I can honestly say I don’t think I would ever listen to someone who wasn’t pregnant about being pregnant. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It’s kind of a weird thing. Yeah. And because you can compare it to how you felt before. That’s the thing. And soon you’re going to be able to compare it to how you feel after. It’s awesome. And I think it’s gonna be nice for me to relate. I’m gonna be able to relate to Rob better. He has a son, like, no, I’m gonna have a son. I’m gonna be able to understand that any other. And a lot of people have kids. And it’s, the real thing. So being able to understand that is going to add a whole ‘nother. – Completely. – I mean, level to what I do. – Completely. – I hope. – Yeah, I know it really well. – ‘Cause I wanna be able to help people. I want everyone to learn from what I went through to get to where I am now. Where I am in this wonderful mirror with the man of my dreams. No, it’s the best. I love it. I know. I have a man on my side who couldn’t be excited about. Oh my god. And it’s so amazing this community at Jim Jones, but it’s amazing this community, how sacred that is. Like it’s like you come in here and there’s a certain behavior that’s expected and it’s genuine. Like it’s genuine. Like you can tell when somebody’s putting something on, but it’s like, it’s the whole idea of surround yourself with people who build you up. And that’s so here and you can feel it No, my god, it’s hard working here. And sorry. It’s the greatest. Yeah. Thank you so much for 16 hours of your time. This has been the and what you want to do is help someone with what you should do. Oh my god. Yeah, totally. And do that to one person. It’s like you’re like, it’s amazing. It’s amazing. Yeah. It’s amazing to have you and I said this to you and you were here probably not with our son that ran something. You’re positive and you’re your kind and your patient. And that is what a leader is. A leader is someone who picks someone up and encourages someone, they don’t yell at them, you don’t really write them because they’re a little tiny step forward to you. You can’t even hardly see the stuff. – Yeah, totally. – So that is a life-changing. – Completely. Yeah, we’re like completely on the same team and I love it. Yeah, thank you so much. – Yeah. – Bye.
