– Okay. – Fran Abbott. – Hi. – And we haven’t seen each other probably like– – Since that– – Oh my God, that’s a yeah. – Yeah. – Oh my God. But I feel like, you’re one of those people that I feel like I’m seeing all the time because I follow you on Instagram and I feel like you are, we just talked about over Sherry and it has a negative connotation. But I feel like you really do give an in depth detail of your life. – Yes. I like, I feel like when I say what’s going on in my mind, yeah, that’s when people are kind of like, oh, someone’s actually finally talking about the shit that I think and no one has said anything about it.
– I’m so happy that that’s what you said because that’s exactly how I feel like, and that’s why like for six months, I have been onto you to be on this on this podcast and the main reason for it we were just having a chat and you’re kind of like why am I on the podcast? I’m just a normal person and it’s really interesting because we all think that that we’re all normal people or we think that we’re a little bit not know or whatever we think but it’s like you have a really amazing way of delivering your message and the way that you deliver it is honest and it’s honest and you just speak what’s actually going on in your life and it’s what’s going on in nearly everybody’s life but nobody has the guts to say it.
It’s so funny. When I started my yoga teacher training, there’s the pillars of yoga and there’s all these values. I’m kind of having a moment of like this one now. I love that it’s like yoga and there’s please value yourself. I like just like a few like thousands of years from tradition, you know, like that stuff that’s all like feel good. Right? Yeah, like in the first week of teacher training we had to choose a value and share it in kind of a class. Oh fuck. And the whole choreography. And I am like, okay, yeah, I’ll go first.
And me being this over share. So they’re like truth and clarity and no, that’s not one. So size of value is getting better and so I chose honesty. And so my feel, because it was like, how to get confidence as teacher. You know, you’re gonna choose a topic and talk about it for three minutes unbroken and like, I’m already a teacher, I’m already a speaker, I’m a teacher. – I’m a teacher. – I’m a teacher. – I’m a teacher. – I’m a teacher. – I’m a teacher. – I’m a teacher. – I’m a teacher. – I’m a teacher. – I’m a teacher.
– I’m a teacher. – I’m a teacher. – I’m a teacher. – I’m a teacher. – I’m a teacher. – I’m a teacher. – I’m a teacher.
– Right? (laughs) – And so I was not talking about honesty and ran a story, but when I was a kid, when dad was first running for parliament or one of the seats, I don’t know, politics.
– Yes, he’s campaigned slogan and I remember it so clearly ’cause his printer on a blue t-shirt in yellow writing Was honest is the best policy. Yeah, and so that’s what I started talking no, no, no… I still go back to that all the time. Like, honesty is difficult and honesty hurts and it’s confronting but like if the truth is that’s it free at the same time. So I still go back to dad’s shit. Having time. Well it obviously worked. It’s like it’s like it’s like me. But that’s really interesting because I am going to give you a proper intro a second, but this is kinda how, as you can see when you’re listening right now, this is why I got friend on here, because she’s like, and we were just making a bit of a joke about it, how you say, I think people think I’m cooler than what I am.
And it’s like, I definitely thought you really could what I first met you, and I still think you’re really cool, but what I really like about you is that you are kinda like, like a bit goofy as well, and you’re just just a bit like whatever comes into your head you say. And that is like one of my favorite qualities in somebody because nothing that you’re doing is like premeditated and you’re not at all cruel. You’re not mean. You’re not nasty. You’re just how you are. And if people don’t like you, then they don’t like you and it doesn’t matter.
And I haven’t met anybody that doesn’t like you. And I really like you. So I think that’s all all the matters obviously but the whole thing about honesty and I think that’s really interesting that that’s the quality that you chose that’s a memory that’s so vivid for you and that’s exactly how I look at your Instagram is it’s just what you’re saying and something that you posted a couple weeks ago that I read out to about 30 people at least like I was absolutely blown away by it I was absolutely blown away by it. It was easily my favorite post of yours.
It’s amazing that we just go along and do these kind of Instagram posts and they’re just like impassing, but it’s like they actually do have an impact and they do reach people if they’re articulated in the right way. And you did this post about how, what does your body actually mean? Is it just like a vehicle that carries you round? And is shallow to want a nice vehicle and drive a nice car? And then it’s like then you talked about how you jumped on the scales and you put on weight in this last bit. I think that there’s been so many interactions.
I’ll give a really quick intro right now. I met Fran two years ago, two and a half years ago when she came into the old gym that I owned. And you just like, I want to know that you light up a space. When you walk in there, there’s no not knowing that you’re there. And it’s not because you’re like shouting or yelling or anything, but you’re just one of those energies that like it takes up a space. And I think it’s because you’re so present in what you’re doing. And so you’re like you’re not like a wanderer you’re not like a hanger on you’re there and and immediately were friends, but it was interesting because you were one of those people that coped a lot of Questions about your body like your body wasn’t personal to you a lot of people were always asking what you ate and what you did and why you’re doing what you do and how you do it and so it was your body is always being like public for people.
They’ve always talked about it and I thought it was really interesting because what you said in this post was that you put on weight and that you were struggling with it basically and that you were kind of trying to you know get more balance into your life, get more rest and what it really the reason it was such an important thing for me to read is this is how we all feel like and no one’s talking’s talking about it. And you and straight away. She’s like yes, do it. This is what we need. Yeah refreshing and I And like I wish you might see yeah, but you’re putting yourself out there.
Yeah Yeah. – And that’s like, that’s the vulnerability thing, right? – Yeah, 100%. So, your Instagram is not another fitness blogger, and we were just talking about then that then, and whether you should change your name to overshara and sort of the else is like, I was like, no, because you’re not another fitness blogger. – Yeah. – Like, your fitness is such a huge part of your life. Health is a huge part of your life. Nutrition is a huge part of huge part of your life Making coaching other people all these different things, but you’re not another fitness blogger You like you do your thing and that’s what we need.
We don’t need another fitness vlogger We need somebody who’s bucking the trend. Yes, and I really appreciate that But so as I said before we met when you came into the gym I have loved you ever since meeting you and like we I really feel like we’re very much aligned and I’m so grateful to have you on the podcast because the intention that I have with you being on this podcast is you demonstrate in the last 18 months, the change you’ve created in your life is incredible and you’re only 26 years old. And we talk a lot about, we’ve just had a big conversation about your age and it’s completely irrelevant.
People comment on your age as well. I feel like you get commented on quite a bit. But what I want you to demonstrate what I want to demonstrate by having you on here is that age doesn’t matter. It’s you that you’re following what you’re here to do. And that’s what you’ve done. So that’s the story I want you to tell us. I want you to give us a little bit of a rundown on your life leading up to now as much detail as you want to put in or not put in and then what we’re gonna go and kind of do is figure out where you’re going.
Yeah cool. Great. So welcome. That was a nine minute intro. We’re like yeah, lots of me jumping. No it’s the best. This is actually supposed to be you. I talk way too much. That’s the feedback I could get into. I talk way too much. This is the now Fran Show. Welcome. Oh, God. My life so far. I grew up in Sydney with my family who are still there on the Northern beaches and you know did all the usual fangs and didn’t hate high school but like it was never like the sharpest tool in the shed like that’s where I definitely learned I’m the hard worker yeah not like the natural spark yeah well no I’m not not a natural spark but I’m not like your book, your natural bookworm type.
Yeah. Even like learning to read. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Had to fall in love with reading before I actually liked. Yeah. But yeah, went to uni, got a Bachelor of Design. And then once I wrapped up the uni, I kind of got to that point like, you know, I’d like cats and like shitty boyfriends and like cats and like good friends were like nothing was keeping me in Sydney. And then I was like, well, you’re 500 bucks and that’s the most amount of money you’ve ever saved in your life. Pack up the car, go to Melbourne, you’ve got four weeks, let’s do it.
– Oh my god, that’s the best. – And so, wrapped everything up, had like a little Galavant around Europe and then, yeah, just packed up the car and showed up in Melbourne and had a job lined up and then, like, everything else just kind of, the first year and a bit, I think, down here was a blur, like, was with a, like, boyfriend and moved in together really quickly and, like, heartied really hard and then I just kind of realized it was, the turning point was I was with my mum and dad and both of them Cyclists and my dad’s done I’m ads and you know if he’s not cycling or running or whatever he’s surfing and like and I kind of just like had living this party last time like Just doing the usual thing and I was just like fuck your your parents are fitter than you are babe.
– Yeah, yeah. And you’re like 21. – Yeah, I was like, time to have a little bit more respect for yourself and yeah, that’s right. And literally signing up at Field and Function and meeting you was the pivotal moment. (laughing) – Nobody’s ever done that ever more on the podcast. – That was the pivotal moment. – You were so focused as well. And that was the interesting thing we were just talking about. It was you with a couple of other friends and we were doing PT and I could not believe you were there and you were there.
Like this was it. And I remember thinking, you were like 23 or 24. And I was like, oh, these kids, like these kids are only going to last a couple of weeks. So give them the best I can. And it’s like, here we are like three, three, three years later. And it’s like amazing. But that’s so interesting that that was a turning point. And I think that people undervalue the change that fitness can create so much because what fitness has created for you isn’t just fitness. It’s created an entire new life. And so from that moment, you became a total weapon, like the biggest weapon ever.
You still the biggest bloody weapon ever. You left your job then? – Yes. – Seven months ago, eight months ago. – No, so it started, oh God, okay, so this is the story. – You had a big life. – I’m still waiting for you to ask me the purpose question I know you’re ready for it! Stop it! I’m like I gotta- no I’ll wait. So it started I had I like was the machine. Yeah, doing all the fitness stuff. ” And then, and I was kind of in this relationship for I was like, “Am I going anywhere? ” And I’m like, I don’t know. And my parents are big inspirations to me.
So I was like looking at their life and I took a week off and like went on a holiday with just like me, my parents and their eight closest friends. So it’s like the big ninth wheel. (laughing) We like all these oldies like, hey guys. – Oh. – And they just like filled yourselves. – Love having me there. – And you know, everyone’s like, oh, Bratty, he’s so fit. Like never met someone who has a real six-track before like oh, I’m kind of jazz and it’s spending that week just with my parents and I kind of re-evaluated and spent a lot of time just walking up and down that stretch of beach like up and back up and back up and back and just thinking and that’s where Not enough fitness vlogger came to me and that’s when I first had that conversation with mom and dad like guys I’m thinking of putting my job.
I Love exercise to change everything for me. I’ve looked into the causes. I can start teaching play this is my friend I’ve looked into doing my set three and four, like here’s what I need to do, here’s my step by step. Now like yes to this, keep your job though, I was like okay, went back to Melbourne, shared this idea with my then boyfriend and he was like this is not a good idea, this is a bad idea, like it’s not feasible, you’ll never make money out of it, it will not be career. I was like, okay, and like I listened to him for probably two minutes and then I was like, time to let go.
And so literally a week later I forgot with him. I remember this, yeah. And then, yeah, and so like, I don’t know, like maybe at the time it seemed like, I’ve like, I’m breaking up with you, I’m starting an Instagram page, like this is on you, me. – It’s like midlife crisis. – Yeah, right. I was saying that for a while. This is my core life crisis, but I’m like, I love core life genius. – It’s like you don’t understand the change that gets created through a so-called crisis. It’s like, that’s what needs a bloody life shake up It’s like why are people staying unhappy right when they’ve got an opportunity to change this is where it’s like the obstacle is the way Yeah, every I didn’t even ask you your a quote and I love used quotation marks.
” But it’s true. So you had this obstacle. It’s not letting your shit define you. It’s how you get through it over at whatever direction you want to go around it That’s what defines it’s so interesting because my sister uses this term all the time about people being helicopter parents And so a helicopter parent is basically somebody who moves all of the obstacles out of the way for their child So they don’t have any pain and it’s like it comes from a place of love But I constantly say to my sister you are a helicopter parent because like I grew up my mum died when I was very little and so my sister kind of jumped into that role very early on and she’s one of those people that she doesn’t want you to feel any kind of pain or struggle because it’s pain and struggle but it’s like the obstacle is what creates a life that you need.
It’s like it’s kind of like effed up’s like, yeah, like that is it. Let’s feel it. And that’s like a big thing that came up for me in my yoga teach training. It’s like, yeah, we’ve got this shit. Let’s sit in it. Let’s experience it. And like, I’ve written it on my Instagram before. It’s like, imagine you’re sitting at the bottom of a well. Look up, admire the view from the bottom, and know that the longer you sit there and sit in it and feel it, the easier it is to figure out how to get out of it. Like, I’m sitting at the bottom of my well, I’m looking out.
And then while I’m looking out, I can see, oh hang on, there’s a hole in the wall, there’s a crevice here. I’m gonna climb out of this thing, like, you get there. – Totally, that is so good. – It can take a while, but when you get there, it’s like, it’s great. – And it’s worth it, ’cause the view’s even closer. Like it’s here and it’s even sweeter. I bloody love it. Okay, so you left your job and you started doing now, you’re running classes. – Yes. – Yep. – Yep Yeah. So I started teaching parties. I did my cert training for.
I then was a contact about some of the women and were like, they were like, we want you to work for us. And I was like, that’s awesome. I’m already done the retail thing when I left high school. Like, no, no, no, I’m at head office now, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And I was like, hang on a second, working in the head office is like killing your soul. Yeah. And like the retail floor, that’s where the people are. Yeah. And the people are the ones with the power. Yeah. And so after I’m denying and you know, running that by my parents, how many thinking oh my god I just got to pay my bills.
Yeah quit my head off his job started at Lulu by that point I was then teaching spin classes as well. So doing plays and spin, rapping out my set three and four. Then I started my yoga teacher training even before I finished my cert 3 and 4 and just like… ” I was like, I was watching all the crossbow documentaries and I was like, “Yes, I’m going to be a machine. I’m going to be jappable trades. I’m going to do everything. ” I can do anything. Tell me what to do. I will do it. I will smash it. That’s totally you. I don’t write.
I never did that. And that’s the thing. Give me a challenge. I will do it. I still remember your focus the first time I put you on the air dine. I’ve never seen anything like it. It was like you had this stileoid expression and that’s exactly it. Like the bloody machine. I want to talk about then. So I love talking to people who have changed the direction of their life and yours has taken the biggest turn ever and it’s all because you did it and had the guts to do it. What’s been the biggest struggle? I don’t… the biggest struggle is…
it’s breaking or routine and creating a new one I think. I am as much as I’m like this crazy like I don’t want to change all the time and I’m constantly seeking out change. I am a creature of habit. And the other thing I find is the struggle is doing what you love and it’s like that difference between, am I doing what I love because I love it, it’s my hobby or am I doing what I love and I’m going to turn into Korea. So this is the thing that I’m still like, I still go back to my parents and like, your guys, like life update, like here’s the, here’s the download, like what are you guys thinking?
And I find with them it’s like, we just want you to be comfortable and like money’s a big thing and you know, security and all that of stuff when I’m at kind of at that time in life I’m like I don’t mind eating rice and tuna. ” You sure I’ve looked on that for 18 months. I’m already living on that. Yeah totally. Occasional Pokey Bowl. But yeah I’m still living on that. – Totally. – Ah, occasional Pokeball. – Yeah. (laughing) – But yeah, I’m still struggling with that. And it’s a big thing. I wanna be like, damn, I’m the first one to be like, I wanna be an independent woman.
Money’s kind of a one or talking about this before. So I guess that’s still the struggle. And really in the scheme of things, that’s not that much of the struggle like I know what I’m doing. I know I can do it. I just it’s just like I’m learning it happen totally in trusting the process. Yeah, totally. I’m being patient. I your phone number, don’t you? I wanna talk about your body. I wanna know what you think about fitness and health and nutrition and your body and kind of where you’ve come from, where you are now and where you’re going in terms of body and health.
– Okay. – I just asked you 18 questions. – Yeah, that’s all good. So when I first started at that gym used to be out I feel like a real nice still on the website I started with She emailed me for she ran a career and she was like this is us in summer and I was Yeah. I’ll be here. And then that goes back to what I wrote on that first goal. But it’s so quickly changed from being, I want to look like this to I want to be so strong and I want to be so fast and I want to like I want to see what I can do with this there that I’ve got and like it’s still kind of where I’m at and like I’m the first one to, like, let’s do an experiment.
You can be at the guinea pig. So I’m still just trying to figure out how hard, how fast, where I can push myself, where I need to pull back. And for me to be the best trainer I can be, I need to have done all this research and I’m gonna learn this, like, yes, and blogs will be like helpful, but I’m not gonna go through it myself. – This is what I just said, we were just talking about then, it’s like, you were headhunted for what you’re working right now, like you’re both places that you’re working right now, you’re headhunted because of the energy that you bring.
And it’s really interesting because I keep saying to you that you’re going to be amazing in this industry because you live it and breathe it and have experienced it and you’ve had the ups and you’ve had the downs and you’re not afraid to show that. And it’s like that’s what people need. We need to have somebody that gets it as well and we’re all trial and error. Like it’s like everything, every bit of training, that’s what I love about exercise science and science in general is it’s work in progress and it’s not a formula.
There’s like something that works for you, doesn’t work for me and vice versa and you’ve got to figure that out for yourself. So I love that you want to be strong and you want to be fast and you want to see what you can do with that body. That’s so exciting and is that kind of where how you perceive your body right now? So right now, so last it was just for Christmas, I was hanging out with a lot of vegetarian and like vegans and then I was like, oh this is a great time of year for that. Yeah right and so I decided to have a go at being a vegio for a while and it did not work for me at all and like I’m the worst because I’m like yeah, get a yoga, I’m like I’m meditating for the same time and like the rest of the time I’m like, raging, give me a steak – And so I see if I shot my foot, yeah.
And it was so interesting, I was talking to one of the girls at work and I felt like I very quickly felt a shift and I was holding on to something and not just physically but mentally as well well and I started looking in the mirror thinking hang on a second like This you’re not looking like you should and like I’ve had this conversation with my friends and I haven’t really said that loud but like I felt like on my blog like you know I’m glad he’s a chapter and like I take lots of selfies in the mirror and like, I have this kind of rippling six pack and like, it’s gone missing.
And like, I’m still like, on the hunt, it’s like, where did you go? It’s like, anybody say that. It’s like, it’s like, there’s like, all the 10, 10 novels, like, I have six pack. Anyway, it’s all, it’s all the way back. I built a brand about around a six pack. I was looking at my Instagram and as much as I hated, people, you seem to get more likes on the photos where you’ve got your belly out and Like it’s disappointing that as that is and like I was looking and like I looked at this maybe too much but like the majority of my followers are female and like the and the majority of my photos like all likes of these like crop top photos and it’s like why are we doing this to each other?
100% I don’t get it and so I was like hold up we need to reevaluate we need to reevaluate we need to take a step back and I was my energy levels like I was burning myself out I was literally having crashes like one second I I’d be fine the next second. I’m just like I Like I’ve got a go and eat something and I realized I wasn’t eating enough I wasn’t eating right not bad food, but just like you know just not respecting your body. Yeah, like Yeah, just I can only put yourself so hard. Yeah. Yeah. And so I was starting to like, and you know, the worst part was like, for the first time in my life, I felt fucking anxious.
Like, anxiety attacks, like, hyperventilating, like, I’m like, for what? Like, what are you stressing out about right now? And so I’ve like, had to, I’m like, for what? Like what are you stressing out about right now? – Yeah. ” And literally didn’t even say anything. ” Yes, yes, yes. You’ve reached the same page that I am on. It’s like, about time. She could see it. ” And you’re not, “This isn’t you. ” And that’s the interesting thing about nutrition is for some people it really works, like different things. And it’s like, and that’s so good that you’re not, this isn’t you, this isn’t what I’m saying.
– Totally. And that’s the interesting thing about nutrition is like for some people it really works, like different things and it’s like, and that’s so good that you actually recognize it because a lot of people and it’s like, I talk about this theory of true knowledge versus learned knowledge. And it’s like, we are so quick to believe what’s working for somebody else will work for us. ” And it was funny because at that time I was like, just because it works for her doesn’t necessarily mean it’s gonna work for you.
And it’s like this thing with vegetarianism, it’s like having the guts to admit that something that’s working for lots of other people isn’t working for you and that these kinds of mood swings and this anxiety is not healthy. Like it doesn’t even matter what your body is starting to look like. If that’s how you’re feeling like life is about how we feel all the time. Yeah. And like, I really wish that I could have been like the world’s vegetarian. Totally. I was just like, say all the animals. Yeah. I did it for a week.
Sorry. Yeah. Totally. When I was doing animal welfare law at uni, I was just like, huh, that means Netflix. Netflix has like, like 100%. Yeah, it’s like the vegan movies. No one’s a minimalism like you know what you don’t don’t watch the prison ones Oh my god, so that appetised I was like I’m still on orange is the new black. I’m like can only handle that right now. So interesting. I absolutely love this. I love what you said. Why are we doing this to each other? And it’s funny because I’ve been getting like really like annoyed about the whole strong is the new skinny or strong is the new black kind of mantra.
And the reason I’m going to tell you, I don’t like it is because it’s just another form of control of women’s bodies. You want to be strong bloody want to be strong It doesn’t have to be whatever what we expect from all women if you want to be like, you know fast if you want to jump high one of my real goals with my body is to be a better jumper like jump on the box more confidently Oh, and it’s like when no one talks about it jumping is not the new black apparently But it’s like I think it’s really interesting because what we have done by creating these kinds of slogans and mantras is we’ve taken away the personal decision it is to have the vehicle that we want for ourselves.
And we’ve said, you need to be this, like you need to fit into this category. So for me to hear you say, like, I want to be strong, I want to be fast, where can I take this? And what are we doing to each other? It’s like music to my ears because it’s your own independent goal and that’s it and I love it and I’m really excited to see where you go with it and I think that it brings up like you and the question I’m even asking about your body is it brings up issues of the judgment we have of each other all the time and just leave people be.
Like let them do their thing and it’s just so it’s so cool to watch the message you have in the world and the energy you bring to the world because you’re, you’re living it and by living it you’re teaching other people. I love it. So what do you feel is your purpose in life? – Granny’s been ready. (laughs) – So I’m like in bed like thinking about this. – Six months now. – And it’s a hard question. Yeah, bloody hell. It gives people serious anxiety. Right. Because I know what my purpose is. But putting it into words and I love a good word and I can’t go to person who wants to have a wig and powerful.
And like, I want it to be printed on a pencil case type of thing. Someone else quote you on it and not remember that it was you that said it. Right? Like pencil case in glitter. I just read that. Kiki Kain, if you are listening. Right. I like one of those inspirational quotes t-shirts or like really sure I’ve got the many of those kinds of things. When I’m not wearing Lulu, I’m wearing inspirational quotes t-shirts. Hopefully this is on one. I have a feeling in the TU though it’s gonna be really long so it’s gonna be very small.
I made a word. I made a word up. Pop me ready now. I’ve got love hair and beauty. Has already come up with it. I’m strong and I’m fast. I’m fine too. Totally. And make it my way to get it. And then I’ll run away really fast. Like the beat job guy you are. So I was thinking about it. Back to what I was saying. What are you feeling? Your purpose? And it goes after this pivotal moment when I walked into that gym. And me as a trainer, which is what I want to be with my life, in my life. And no, I don’t want to be a trainer.
I want to be coach. And like we’re saying, I want to be teammate. Like, and this is this, you know, this awesome freaking community that we are in. Oh my god I love these. So mine and I was thinking about it and I was like I was in that place and showing up for that class every day like at the time like it was my escape and that was the best part of my day. And it’s like, you’re like, okay, that’s a little bit boring. And I’m like, that was seriously, that is what like, it inspired me and it motivated me. And so then I was like, well, yeah, that’s kind of, that’s my my purpose I want to inspire people and motivate people but I’m not going to do that because I had that in me like you just gave me the tools right you were the first person that like I remember it was on that freaking air assault bike you just came over and you you’re like digging your heels.
You can do this. You can smash this. And for a long like and still like when I’m like at the gym or running or doing something, it’s kind of weird that it’s your voice in my head. It’s like you’ve got this. You’ve got this girl. I’m like yeah yeah, so I don’t want to inspire and motivate people through me. I want to give them the tools because it’s already inside there. I’m just going to show them how to unlock the door. And exercise and movement and breathing and that is creating a better connection with yourself and the better we understand it ourselves like the better place the world will be.
So back to my words. – So what’s your word? – In Spomo. I’m gonna be your inspomation. (laughing) Oh my God, I love it. You inspomation. Oh my god I love it! You inspomow me! I have a feeling no one’s gonna steal your word but I have a feeling that they’re gonna love it just as much as I do but I cannot believe what what emission you are on like and I can’t wait to watch the great things you do with your life and I’m so excited to see this and I’m really like I’m really flooded that my voice is the one that you hear because I had an instant connection to you I would say because of your work ethic and because of your energy and I knew that when you were there you were taking it seriously and it’s funny being a trainer or back then I was probably a trainer.
And now I probably like to think of myself as a coach because there is a difference. I probably invested more in people that were investing in the process themselves than everybody, but it’s like everybody deserves that when they’re in that space. But I love what you’ve said about you want to inspire and motivate somebody to find what’s already inside them and you’re going to unlock it. Like as in you give them the key and but it’s already inside them and because that’s what it is because that is what makes change sustainable is if it comes from you.
And you just articulated that in such a great and genuine and Fran way. Like it was all your words. No you really did because I think it’s an interesting question to ask and I love hearing people’s answer to it and I love hearing it when it’s come from their heart and it just came from your heart and you’ve thought about it and you’re living it. And I wrote down here a question I want to ask you but you’ve already just answered it is what value do you feel you bring to the world? Oh well that’s interesting, like one value.
Or just like value to the world. Oh, well, that’s interesting. Like one value or just like value to the masses or any values. But still it’s like, as in what is your like, what impact do you have on the world? Maybe is a better one or do you want to have on the world? And I’ve never asked anywhere to that question before, but as you were speaking then, with your purpose, I wanted to ask you. Yeah right I feel like it’s determination I think and I guess I goes back to like how all deep down like I’m like a stoic and all that kind of stuff but you dig in your heels and then you keep going and if someone tells you you can’t do it that’s filled for your fire 100% and like we live in a world where often it’s yourself telling you you can’t do it and it’s it’s right like getting it out of your head getting into your body and just seeing what you can do and like it’s literally when you come from that place like okay babe like show you show yourself what you can do for a long time I feel like um and like this goes back to dad and like when all that shit happened with not that getting a scholarship and all that kind of stuff for a long time I was like let’s prove that you are worth it and you are good at this and this is what you can do.
Let’s like prove them wrong. But then no one cared. Like that was like a news headline for maybe a week or so. And after that no one really gives a shit. And I was trying to prove something to all these people who weren’t watching. Totally. And then it was like, and so then I was kind of at the bottom of my well and I’m like, well now, because that was obviously a low point for me. And then it’s like, no, well now you need to rebuild that confidence and prove it to yourself. So I guess it’s giving people that determination and they’re knowing that you can do anything you put your mind to.
You just actually could put your mind to it. And it’s a cut out to say it’s too hard. It’s a harder, better, I reckon. That’s where the magic happens. I remember my mom always talking about when you see weeds growing through concrete, most of the time you just look and it’s like whatever. But holy fuck! You just broke your your pocket. – It’s so farted. – Yes! I never thought about that. – It’s so true. – It’s pretty awesome. – Yeah. – So I guess that’s kind of you. I kind of know if that answers. – No, it totally does.
– No, it’s kind of like word moments. – No, it was perfect. I have loved everything you’ve said and I cannot wait to see where you go with your life. Like watching you over the last few years and the progress you’ve made is just like I love it and you have such so many people have so much to learn from you and I hope that this does actually unlock something in people who are listening and if you’re not already jump on and follow Fran, not another fitness blogger and we’ve worked talking about you doing so you have a a Bachelor of Design is that right?
Yes. Yes. We’re talking about how space that you’re moving into is social media for other people so I am totally going to get you to do mine but if anybody this is something that interests anybody then get in touch like that will be I know I’ve got all these skills and like if I was running somewhere else in social media like I promise promise I wouldn’t wear a garment like a mooring. So I’m talking about like no bras and my… – That’s the best. We did talk about bras for maybe 10 minutes today. That was definitely a highlight for me.
We’re talking about my favourite Lula Lula Mabra, which is the only bra we’re now. – I know, right? They’re so great. – I can run if I need to at any time or jump. But thank you so, so, so much for listening. Bye!
