force decks vald

RevoPT has recently invested in a cutting-edge set of VALD ForceDecks — a technology you won’t typically find in a commercial gym.

And for the data-driven coaching team at RevoPT, we couldn’t be more excited!

VALD ForceDecks are advanced force plates that analyse balance, strength, and movement with precision.

Why Does This Matter?
What makes VALD ForceDecks so valuable in a gym setting is that they allow us to measure maximal strength efforts without using any external resistance!

For those returning to training after time off—or complete beginners—this means we can assess your baseline strength without needing to touch a single weight.

Then, every 13 weeks at Game Day, you’ll have the opportunity to retest your maximal strength, giving you a clear picture of your progress over time. Check out our timetable to see when the next Game Day is schedule, there’s one coming up soon!

How Does It Work?
Without diving too deep into the engineering, VALD ForceDecks use specialised sensors to measure Ground Reaction Force (GRF)—the force exerted by the ground in response to the force you apply.

For example, when you stand on the force plates, your body applies downward pressure, and the ground exerts an equal and opposite force, allowing you to remain upright. These measurements provide us with real-time insights into your strength, balance, and movement efficiency.

What Can We Test?
By analysing Ground Reaction Force, coaches can assess a range of key performance indicators, including:
Maximal Strength
– How much force you can produce
Rate of Force Development (Power)
– How quickly you can generate your peak force – Balance & Asymmetry
– Identifying imbalances between limbs

How Do We Test?
While testing protocols can be tailored to an individual’s needs, RevoPT has developed a structured testing battery to assess multiple performance qualities efficiently.

Key Assessments Include:
Maximal Strength Tests – Each test focuses on a specific movement pattern:
  • Squat Assessment – Evaluates lower body force production and asymmetry
  • Prone Hamstring Isometric – Measures horizontal peak force
  • Isometric Mid-Thigh Pull (IMTP) – Assesses total body force output
Power Testing – Jump-based assessments to measure explosive strength
Balance Testing – Single-leg and double-leg holds to identify stability imbalances.

By analysing peak forces, we can compare your performance against normative data—benchmarks based on sex, age, and training experience. This allows us to determine how your strength stacks up against others in your demographic.

Additionally, identifying asymmetries helps pinpoint areas that may require targeted intervention, such as strength imbalances or movement inefficiencies.

How This Transforms Your Training
With the data collected, RevoPT coaches can make informed programming decisions that directly impact your training plan.

For those looking to push their strength to the next level, VALD ForceDeck testing works hand-in-hand with traditional resistance-based strength assessments (e.g., squat, bench press, deadlift). By incorporating this technology, we can fine-tune your program to maximise your strength gains and movement efficiency.

The VALD ForceDecks provide another scientific tool that enhances our coaching approach, ensuring you receive a high-quality, data-driven service that helps you achieve your fitness goals in 2025 and beyond.
