Man Up Monday Personal Fitness Workout 18

Moderation in ModerationGood morning, hope you had a great relaxing weekend. You will need it for todays workout as we are going to be doing a workout full of maximum repetitions. So for each of the exercises listed you will have to do as many repetitions as you can until you are unable to do any more.

Get started with a good warm up and then perform the following exercises until failure.

1. Jump Squats

2. Horizontal Pull Ups

3. Prone Hold

4. Alternating Staggered Push Up

Rest for 2 minutes

Do 3 sets of this and aim to try and get as close to your first set total in each of the following sets.

Good morning, happy Melbourne Cup eve. You just have to love a sport loving city that gets a public holiday for a horse race. In the spirit of the Melbourne Cup today’s man up monday workout is going to be based around the number 32 (the length of the Melbourne Cup race is 3200m).

800m

32 Squats

32 Push Ups

32 Horizontal Pull Ups

32 Second Prone Hold

Repeat this Circuit 4 times

Also makes for a total running distance of 3200m!

Lazy Sunday @ Ten Pin Bowling

Good morning everyone. Welcome to yet another Sunday even if this one doesn’t appear as though it is going to be quite as nice a day as we have been having lately.

However don’t despair because as usual we are here to the rescue with an great way to have a fun sunday afternoon and stay out of Melbourne’s rain. Today why don’t you head on down to your local 10 pin bowling centre with your family or some friends and organise yourself a couple of games and you can finally make use of all those bicep curls your trainer has had you doing.

Don’t be shy to have at least one game with the bumpers on either  you can have a lot of fun seeing how many times you can get it to bounce off the rails. If your really keen to get some extra exercise you may even be able to do some weights with the bowling ball while you wait for your turn to do some bowling…Just wishful thinking!

So on this miserable looking Sunday afternoon stay out of the rain and check out one of Melbourne’s 10 pin bowling centres.

Man Up Monday Personal Fitness Workout 16

Well guys, it looks as though we are going to have another day full of great weather, so what better way to enjoy the sun than getting outside for a huge cardio session.

For todays Man Up Monday workout you will need to get your self a stop watch as we will be doing some running with a bit of a fartlek training influence.

Make sure you have a good warm up and then follow these running patterns for 20 – 30 minutes:

Jog 1 min

Fast run (≈90% of max) 1 min

Slow jog / walk 30 sec

Fast run (≈90% of max) 1 min

Continue to cycle through this pattern for 20 -30 minutes

Good Morning and welcome to your weekly workout fix. Todays workout will be a pretty intense combination of running and body weight resistance work. so good luck and have fun!!

Find yourself a sports oval/athletics track and mark out roughly 400m, 300m, 200m & 100m (400m will be approx. 1 lap of football oval) and make sure you have a stop watch handy, as you will be needing to time your sets for the workout.

SET 1

Max push ups in 60 sec

400m sprint

Max pull ups in 60 sec

400m sprint

Max sit ups in 60 sec

400m sprint

Max squat jumps in 60 sec

400m sprint

Rest 3 minutes

SET 2

Max push ups in 45 sec

300m sprint

Max pull ups in  45 sec

300m sprint

Max sit ups in 45 sec

300m sprint

Max squat jumps in 45 sec

300m sprint

Rest 2:30 minutes

SET 3

Max push ups in 30 sec

200m sprint

Max pull ups in 30 sec

200m sprint

Max sit ups in 30 sec

200m sprint

Max squat jumps in 30 sec

200m sprint

Rest 2 minutes

SET 4

Max push ups in 15 sec

100m sprint

Max pull ups in 15sec

100m sprint

Max sit ups in 15 sec

Lazy Sunday @ Victoria Market

Good morning Melbourne. Happy Sunday, I hope you enjoyed a sleep in this morning. But now to the old dilemma, what to do today? How about heading down to the Queen Victoria Market and grabbing yourself some of the great bargains that are on offer.

Walking through all the stalls and looking through the clothes, shoes, fashion accersories, cd’s, dvd’s and jewelrry on offer is a great way to get your body moving and burning a few extra calories without having to work up too much of a sweat. If you take the family along on a Sunday there is even an outdoor cafe with childrens rides and activities to keep them entertained.  On your way out of the market make sure you grab yourself some of the great fresh produce on offer to use for great tasting healthy eating during the week.

The Queen Victoria Market is located on the corner of Victoria & Elizabeth streets in Melbourne’s CBD and is open 9am – 4pm on Sundays.
